Mentionned that he was ready to break out and that his shot is overwhelming, and even said with Spezza he could be the Sens' version of James Neal.

Didn't realize he said that, but Bickell is quite interesting and McGuire usually knows his stuff.

It sounds like a nice Latendresse 2.0 type signing. Low risk, high potential and low cost so Eugene would approve.

yeah I'd thought we'd target him or Stalberg if looking for more depth

but a James Neal I don't see

I wouldn't go that far but he did say 30 goals would be what he would bring with Spezza at C.

Y'know what? That may not be far off. He had 17 goals in 10/11, while averaging 14 minutes per game (and NOT playing with a playmaking centre like Spezza). He's also huge and hits.

He's on every team's radar at this point, so he won't come cheap, but he also shouldn't cost a fortune. Could be a perfect Murray value type signing.

That's the logic he was applying. I'd sooner sign this guy than Clarkson.

Hope they get Dan Boyle to replace Gonchar.

I would estimate there is a 0 point 0 per cent chance the Sharks move Boyle. I don't think they're going to make any major changes this off-season, given how close they were.

Unless Boyle asks for a trade but I don't see that happening. Was really hoping sharks would crash and burn but they looked damn good in the series so I don't think any firesale will be happening anytime soon.

Maybe Boyle moves at the trade deadline if the Sharks are somehow out of it...but that also has a 0 point 0 per cent chance of happening. So yeah, the possibility remains at 0 point 0.

considering his limited NTC, he's going to have alot of suitors at trade deadline as he's the perfect rental player. Don't like chances of ottawa getting him without massively overpaying then.

Boyle, like I said to a few other before is sitll at the top of his game. Most underrated hockey player in the last decade of hockey.

He honestly seems like the unicorn the sens could never catch....almost came here before then got swiped by san jose. Think we've all been yearning for him and the way he plays the game, and the fact he was on team canada (and will be again IMO) shows me he isn't underrated anymore.

That's Murray's fault that he couldn't pull the trigger on bringing him here. Not sure why he passed, but it was a mistake.

Cheapness and/or cheapitude.

Maybe. At the time I recall we were just getting into crappyness. Perhaps they didn't want to spend the money. Not sure what would stop you from making that transaction considering he's an elite-level puck mover and he makes a fair salary for what he brings.

We're still regretting it, but whatever...maybe it was cheapness.

Or maybe Boyle just didn't want to join the clusterdiddle that was the Ottawa Senators at the time

If I remember correctly, he waived to come here.
