He needs to be a leader on this team no matter how old he is - and it bugs the Dung out of me when I see him go down and stay down while the play continues. The refs won't call it just because you're laying down, you need to get the hell up and talk to them afterwards.

I yelled at the TV so loud when he was sitting there last night while they scored on us. So Cussing bad for a future captain of this team.

Yep, a young Alfie would never do that

So pens diving = powerplays
Sens diving = zilch and goals the other way

Not even important. Karlsson has to stop because he's looking like 20 year old Crosby right now.

Funny, I was going to say the same thing, and then I didn't want to bother. Pretty much all star players go through this sort of thing at a young age. I think you even see Crosby whining a little less at the refs than he used to. It's a learning process - you end up earning respect and the benefit of the doubt from the refs if you go about things the right way.

Learning to be an NHLer is one thing, learning to be a star is another. It takes time and it's all part of it. It just has to change at some point and that's all people are saying.

He may actually not get the "C" ever because of that.

Relax, all stars go through this, all of them. It's a process and he will learn.

Yep. He's an overrated bum at this point. Buy him out in the off-season and move on!

I bet Mac had a long chat with him though. Better to get this out of the way than to let him continue to whine and cry like a little girl.

I'm not arguing that karlsson needs to stop diving. Completely, agree, he's gotta grow up now especially since the refs got him pegged for sure. What I'm more concerned is that his opponents are flopping around just as much and getting the calls, so how does a senator not see the need to 'sell' the call as much as they can?

It's just part of the game now. Bottom line is, if diving gets you the power play, go for it. It isn't right now for karlsson, so he's gotta stop.

Can you really blame karlsson for 'whining' when in game 3 he gets high sticked by cooke, no call, then gets a chintzy slashing call in the dying minutes of the game.

On the lighthearted side:

@JohnLuTSNMtl: #Sens Erik Karlsson: "See you, guys! (with a big smile)" as media members abandoned his locker in a mad dash to surround Daniel Alfredsson.

Umm, yeah, you mean you've never heard of "two wrongs don't make a right" (but three lefts do). He's got to do what he has to do. Get up, continue the play, then when the whistle blows skate over to the ref and bleed on him a little. That gets their attention a bit better than clutching your face and dropping down to your knees.

It always makes me cringe when players do that. I can understand grabbing at your face. I can even understand dropping your stick/gloves. But dropping down to both knees when you got a stick in the face -- what's the purpose?

Anyhow, I was specifically talking about the Cooke high stick in G3, not what happened last night. I didn't watch live at the start and after seeing a few minutes of late third period action I deleted the recording without watching any of it. What happened on the play?

Don't worry. We won't have to see his snivelling, whiny face around here for long...#BUYOUT.

Maybe young Philly draws back into the everyday lineup as a solid #5-6?

Ugh. I guess if we get desperate enough.

Much easier said than done mister. He's facing stiff competition and is naturally ticked off at the refs and his opponents. They're missing calls they should be calling so he resorts to other means. I'm not arguing whether it's right or wrong, that's foolish, but being a realist I understand where he's coming from.
