Man. Special Teams is the story tonight. Got two days to work on things before the next game. PMac... time to work your magic.

Not Andy's best game, no. We weren't going to sweep, or even win first two. Rangers lost first two on the road and are still playing -- and, no I'm not comparing the Pens to the Caps. But all we need to do is steal one game -- tonight Anderson wasn't good enough to do that, maybe Friday he will be.

I agree with Oggie, the game is far from fast; Spezza would not have a problem keeping up. Maybe Friday, for sure Sunday.

If Gryba can't go next game, Wiercioch is still injured -- Borocop time?

Best game Conacher has played as a Sen.

Frustrating loss, but lots to build on. Sens carried the play most of the game, got burned by the Pens PP and their own mistakes. Fixable for sure. Reset for Game 2. GO SENS GO!!!

are we watching the same game? They controlled the entire second.

Keep controlling the play, taking dumb penalties and making mistakes and this will go quick.

Not even mad. They played ok. Penguins will not gain any momentum with this break, we get Spezza back in there (c'mon, don't tell me he can't play in this if he's cleared for contact), we win the next game.

Cut down on the penalties, drive the net a bit more and win game 2. Specialty teams killed us.

If a guy is playing with the extras, not in a no-contact jersey, he can play...

Game 2 is a game we could win with minor changes. That's playing with house money at this stage

Pretty much this. Thought the Sens played a fairly solid game all things considered. They controlled the play at times, played hard, had their chances, not a lot of bounces went their way. This is a measuring stick series right now without a #1 center and a team that is learning as they go.

Watching that game last night I don't see how could be mad as a Sens fan other than the fact they lost.

Not mad, just disappointed. More times than not, whoever wins the first game win the series.

All in all, good effort from the Sens but they looked a little star struck at first and Cowen really did play awful and that was the difference IMO. Anderson was normal as in normal good, not stand on his head good which he probably needs to be.

Come back Friday night, ready to play hard and do just that. Like SD said, at this point they are playing with house money and anything beyond 4 games is just a bonus. This is a measuring stick series and will determine what kind of moves they make in the off season to match up better against the Pens going forward.
