Think of the coach though, A-Train probably doesn't fit in with Mac's style of moving the puck out of the defensive zone as quickly as possible. Not meaning he likes chips off the glass or rim arounds, he appears to like quick, short snap passes out of the zone - something A-Train doesn't have - or at least he didn't used to.

I don't know if I would deal for him if I'm the Sens but I'm sure that caught a lot of attention around the league.

Not the same player that we had. I haven't seen him hit anyone, much less A-train them like he used to.

He's the antithesis of "puck moving defenseman", a "puck's not moving defenseman".

His decline is to be expected given how much abuse he was taking blocking shots etc.

I've wondered lately why the Sharks are even contemplating trading Boyle. It doesn't make any sense if they fancy themselves a Cup contender. Where those rumours BS?

That would do it. Gonchar for Boyle is starting to make more and more sense then.

It would probably be Gonchar and a pretty decent prospect. Boyle won't be going for peanuts.

I could get on board with that. There are obviously a few prospects that I wouldn't be good with, but there are still a lot left over for Wilson to choose from.

Gonchar + someone other than the top prospects we have + perhaps a later pick.

That's the type of move you make in the offseason, not going to happen during the season but by then Gonchar is a UFA.

Well it's like Nashville and St-Louis. The difference is they may not have 1st liners but have a ton of 2nd liners. We have like 2.

I recently read something about how some dmen appear to be quality defenders, but it's because they can't break out and spend the entire shift in their own end. Volchenkov was one of the worst on the list. Gill was the worst.

Phoenix is awesome when healthy. They're a super fun team to watch. OEL is particularly wicked. I like Hanzal and Vrbata a lot too.
