When there is lots of buyers, few sellers, price go up.

Paul Gaustad for a 1st rounder.

Grant just got sent down. But it could simply mean that Michalek is ready. Would like to see Stone up here and even Da Costa, but would need to send someone else back. Putting Ludin on the IR would clear up another spot.

I'm sure Stone will be coming up. Da Costa just got sent down not too long ago so I doubt he will go back.

I wonder if Pageau or Prince will get a shot later this year, they're doing well with their increased role.

Guastad played every game, lol, Ballard was a healthy scratch 1/2 of last year and is on the same path at this point.

GMs know that he's better than a scratch though. They pay their pro scouts enough to know this kind of thing.

Yeah, I assume Grant is going down to make room for Michalek, then when Lehner goes down, I think Da Costa will be back up, although Prince is next to take a look at I think, then Pageau.

haha, yah, don't think anyone is paying a 1st for Ballard... especially with a big cap hit, 2 more years, and as of right now questionable ability to be a top 4 D man.

I'm not really saying he'll garner a 1st, but Gillis is a hard headed, stubborn GM who will set his price and leave Ballard sitting there if he feels the price isn't being met.

He's probably a victim of his own stubborness. Could have traded Luongo by now and had Kadri. Doubt the leafs will move kadri now

Who knows if that would help the Canucks right now though. Luongo has been really solid.

Kadri would be helping the Canucks waaaay more than Luongo. Gillis screwed up for sure... but I still think what Kadri is doing right now is based off of the short season and being extremely fresh and in shape coming into the season. Next year will tell the story.

You can't really say that. Yes, I think Schneider could have and still could carry the load, but Luongo played some incredible hockey up until recently - to the tune where he was 2nd in the league in save% and GAA. How can you say Kadri would have helped more than that?

With that said, Kadri appears to have something going on that might finally indicate he's ready to be an NHLer with impact.

Was I the only one to think Bryan Murray may want to make a phone call when I read Volchenkov was a healthy scratch tonight?

A Train is no better than Gryba at this point.

Think of the coach though, A-Train probably doesn't fit in with Mac's style of moving the puck out of the defensive zone as quickly as possible. Not meaning he likes chips off the glass or rim arounds, he appears to like quick, short snap passes out of the zone - something A-Train doesn't have - or at least he didn't used to.

I don't know if I would deal for him if I'm the Sens but I'm sure that caught a lot of attention around the league.

Not the same player that we had. I haven't seen him hit anyone, much less A-train them like he used to.

He's the antithesis of "puck moving defenseman", a "puck's not moving defenseman".

His decline is to be expected given how much abuse he was taking blocking shots etc.
