Reports from Sens practice have Daugavins is the centre of the fifth line, between Michalek and Stone. Sounds like 9mm and Stoner may accompany the team on the trip.

Mark Stone might play ? Beer

That's awesome with a capital A. The best first impression by a Sens prospect in recent memory setting up that Spezza goal in the playoffs.

Him and 9MM wearing grey jerseys, those are the non-contact ones right ?

Stone might get a look up in the top 6 which would be nice. Man, the Sens need Spezza back big time.

Holy out of left field. I wonder how his conditioning and skating is after being out of game action for 7 weeks or however long it's been.

Stone is a heck of a player though, that's your guy who can stand in front of goalies and score goals from the hash marks.

Once again though, I feel bad for Hoffman, who must be visiting Voodoo doctors to get his collarbone healed.

Stone would've been here by now if he'd been healthy. I assume he'll get a look once he's good to go. He had the best first impression since Spezza in the playoffs that year.

Shawn Simpson was saying he is done for the year. No idea how he knows that. Richardson said the injury is worse than they thought but he should be back before the season is done but that was a while ago haven't heard anything since.

Really...man, that's harsh for him.

Stone on the PP would be awesome. Quick passes, quick shots, just what we need.

Tough break for Hoffman but DD doing what he is doing has basically cost Hoffman any kind of shot this year and maybe even going forward. Could very well be a guy Ottawa trades in a package for a big name player.

Hoffman is more talented, DD is just a good 4th line plug, he's not a potential top-6 or anything. But yeah I think they'll trade Hoff, if anything to give him a shot at the NHL elsewhere if it's not in the cards here.

Stone and Michalek potentially coming back into the lineup at some point is great news.

Don't see Hoffman as a top 6 guy at all. See him as a 3rd line winger who gets spot work on the PP and a lot of PK time because of his speed. DD is exactly what the Sens need right now and that's a winger to play along side Smith and do the job of making the other teams life hell each game. That was a spot that Hoffman was close to getting IMO but DD has taken it and ran with it.

Give us a breakdown of what Murray said. Can't listen to things from work.

Injury update from Murray: Michalek, Stone skated today. Anderson had a quick skate and will be coming on the trip with the team today. Spezza's skating. Cowen is rehabbing. Karlsson is still on crutches.

They were basically pumping his tires on how well the team has been playing and all the draft picks they have on the team now. Murray also mentioned there should be some more picks coming up next year, he didn't name names though. He also reminded them about Cowen being injured as a lot of people forget about him.

He was asked about making a big trade to go "all in" if he feels he's close to a Cup run but he didn't give any indication that he's considering that. He did agree that scoring has been an issue but the D has stepped up and of course the goal tending.

Was asked if he regretted his comments on Cooke. Murray countered that he never said anything about Cooke - I think they were confusing Melnyk's comments with his.

Was asked about the difference between the Clouston era and he had to really bite his lip. It comes down to respect and making the right demands.

For the record: Murray does not read BooBoo's Sunday column. Heh.

Bottom line from Murray was they're going to continue to build from within, use the kids, give them the opportunity to step up, no knee jerk reactions to the injuries, stay the course and build to the future. Praised Luke and the staff in Bingo and in Ottawa for the tremendous job they've been doing. The cooperation between the two clubs is really paying off.

I'm sure there's more. Good interview. The only surprise news was that Anderson would be making the trip. That's good. Murray joked that he may not be able to get back in the net with the way Bishop has been playing. HA.
