BTW -- the Sens don't have a 2nd rounder this draft either. So getting rid of the 1st rounder means they don't pick until round 3 in a real good draft. I don't think Murray does that. And he has said he is not trading his first round prospects.

I believe they will trade Bishop... but will it be for a young player or a pick... nothing is guaranteed there.

We needed to trade Heatley, SJ wanted him but the only way they could fit him under the cap was to send us Cheechoo so we were Cussed. Lucky that 9MM has been such a good player for us, and Heatley is toiling away in Minnesota right now.

The original offer was Erhoff + Cheechoo so I think we did well.

While I don't believe anything he says, that's a good target for us. He's a warrior and a RH shot to boot.

What's happening with Cowen? It's been a good 3 months since his surgery I think.

He's probably 3 weeks away for sure but if he could get back to game shape by late march that would be great for the team.

The usual Sens reporters have mentioned seeing Cowen watching team practices as well as seeing him working out in the gym at SBP, but there's been no update on his progress. I assume it's on schedule(no news is good news).

"On schedule" was 3-6 months from his Nov. 17th, 2012 surgery date. So... anytime between now (Feb. 17th) and May 17th.
