that's an overpayment for sure but maybe they can give us a 2nd rounder. I used to love smith but I think we can do without him now.SpezDispenser wrote:rooneypoo wrote:SpezDispenser wrote:Hoags wrote:Murray could also take a shot at RoR, he sounds exactly like the 200ft player PMac likes. We all know PMac is like an assistant GM now, and if he likes a guy, BM will take that under serious consideration.
We'd be giving up futures but RoR is not a short term band aid. It's exactly like the Turris trade a year which gave us a huge shot in the arm and filled a big hole at #2C.
At least one guy on twitter from Denver (no idea who he is) says the Sens are frontrunners. Probably BS but no one else is saying it.
I'd imagine we are front runners. Who can trot out the prospects we can + perhaps a roster player. I'm finally starting to see the light in trading Z.Smith + Zibanejad for ROR + a small piece. People compare ROR to a young Patrice Bergeron - to which SD says: yes please.
As much as I love Smith, that is a move I would do, altho' I think COL must be looking for an offensive Dman in return, given their current backend.
They might be, don't know who we can offer for that. Zibanejad + Smith + Wiercioch is too much IMO unless Colorado is sending us back a little something else.
I have no allegiance to Wiercioch though. I've thought he's looked great some nights, poor some others, but nothing that would suggest he's a deal breaker or anything.
