Be nice if we could keep Wiercioch in the fold somehow, it's nice to have someone other than EK who can make great breakout passes. Playing with Gonchar, he seems to be modeling his game after him.

We may need two top 6 forwards this coming offseason. A little insurance against Michalek getting hurt and The Alfie slowing down (if he does indeed come back, which I think he will at this point).

Ideally I would see The Alfie on line 3 with powerplay duty.

Eugene will keep us near the floor so I think we'll go for another Latendresse type experiment at best. Stone/Hoffman could get a shot as well. Apparently Hoffman might be done for the year ?

That's it right there. Melnyk is sick of spending and HOPING to make the 2nd round. If we make it to the 2nd round, spending (wisely) will put us over the top.

Probably means he's ruled out for the next 3 games on the road (i.e. this week). I think after NYI game they come back to Ottawa and then play the leafs in toronto. That's probably the game they target for andy's return.

That's what I was going to say but I think his knee injury will scare Anaheim (or anyone) off.

They might want Wiercioch to try and make up for losing Schultz/Gardiner as well.
