Yeah, saw that coming. Mac's not playing him much at all the last couple of games. Disappointing, but he'll be back.
Nope. I think the coach decided he didn't like the player and that's that. Nice knowing ya.
Don't think so, I think he felt as if he wasn't hard enough to play against away from the puck. Maybe not though, who knows. I liked his game a lot personally and think it was more of a numbers game.
Booboo says it might be "budget issues."

The clips you'll see on TSN/Sportsnet will be him looking super-serious saying things like "Cooke was trying to take me out", but in reality all he said was Cooke didn't tried to cut him, but was certainly trying to give him a little something extra...which is pretty much the consensus of the universe.
Watch the entire conference, AND listen to his interview with the Team 1200 after. He was cracking jokes and having a great time. Also, he's getting a Pomeranian dog next week, which he's super-pumped about. The guy absolutely loves life and has an unbelievable attitude.
I'm not certain he'll be the captain right after The Alfie retires (maybe Phillips or Spezza), but he's next in line.

NEELY wrote:Spezza is for sure getting the C when Alfi goes but Karlsson is the face of the franchise going forward and will be wearing the C one day. The slap in the face to Spezza would be too large if the C was passed to anyone but him at this point along with the fact Karlsson is still young and giving him the C now will put pressure that he doesn't need. Not saying he can't handle it but why risk it? Give it to Spezza, it's the right call when Alfi retires.

I think he basically said Matt Cooke and Chris Neil are the same player.

He's quite the Richard about it too. Honestly I don't understand the vitriol. It's essentially a fact now that in this whole incident, Cooke is the real victim because he's being 'mislabeled' as a villain. Eugene Melnyk, Karlsson, sens fans are the real bad guys since they question cooke and don't take blame themselves since they employ Chris Neil who is in everyone's eyes the exact same (or worse) than cooke.
While general manager Bryan Murray is looking into the possibility of trading for high-priced replacements such as Colorado’s Ryan O’Reilly, Florida’s Stephen Weiss or Edmonton’s Ryan Whitney as the April 3 trade deadline approaches, there are always budgetary concerns to adding newcomers.
Even the necessity of bringing up replacement players from the American Hockey League is a costly exercise, because those players — Mika Zibanejad, Stephane Da Costa, Eric Gryba, David Dziurzynski and Derek Grant – are suddenly making as much as 10 times the salaries they were making in the minor leagues. Da Costa, for instance, is now making a pro rotated salary of $800,000, up from the $80,000 he was earning while with Binghamton.

They said on the Team 1200 this morning.. that in order to bring Lehner up... they had to send someone down.
With the Rangers, Habs & Bruins up next... the Sens need big bodies.

No you never trade a 1st round pick for anyone over 35 unless it's a generationnal talent. Nevermind the fact he's making more than Karlsson or that we are not even close to being a cup contender.
Plus this draft is very good.
