the sens can work through this it is just not going to be pretty and every game is going to be a long hard battle they will need to grind out every game it is the main way they can win now may not have a lot of high power offense left but they can grind out many wins

Yeah, they'll certainly have to alter their gameplan, but it can be done. Plus...for the eleventy billionth time, we need to acquire some talent.

No, I think he is right. Going into this next weeks games against teams that are at the top of the game (exception is the Isles but they play them in the 2nd game of a back to back)... Tor, NJ, Bos, Mtl, Rangers...

So out of the playoffs by this time next week.

The Sens will have only 2 top 6 forwards in the lineup for the next week -- rookies at centre and on defense.. and 3rd & 4th liners. They will be outskilled for sure.

If by some miracle they make the playoffs.. it would be a very short run. Is it better to miss -- get a high pick which could put this team over the top.. than to just make the playoffs and go out quick..

I love this team, I support this team.. but I'm afraid the season is toast.

Any playoff aspiration is just blind hope, let's face it.
Roster looks like the Blue Jackets + anderson - good defense

What sucks is Karlsson's injury not just cost him another norris, but cost anderson the vezina as well.

I blame all of you for pumping Karlsson tires that jinxed him in the first place! For shaaaame....

For sure. Everyone was in reaction mode yesterday. I certainly didn't like the negativity (still don't), but I understand that the Sens are in a very difficult position now. They aren't likely to tear it up with the amount of talent on the shelf, but that doesn't mean that they can't take this situation and turn it into a positive. The season may not produce a playoff series for this team, but there's value in building for the future, and there's value in finding ways to win a few tough games. I think that the silver lining in all of this is that the youth will get a chance to play and grow. They'll grow by fighting for victories when there's little hope.
