29 goals in 69 games...the guy can put the puck in the net at the pro level.  He's an option to look at going forward IMO, although it's tough the get into the depth chart in Ottawa right now.

He'll have to wait his turn. You don't just get a free pass into the NHL.

Yupp, but goes to show how some guys in Bingo are NHL ready. All the more reason to shop Legwand, Smith, Greening, Neil, etc.

Who stays and who goes? The following are UFA right now:

Aaron Johnson
Brad Mills
Patrick Mullen
Carter Camper
Alex Grant
Derek Grant
Chris Wideman

The following are RFA:

Fredrik Claesson
Jakub Culek
Darren Kramer
Shane Prince
Cole Schneider
Garrett Thompson

I really don't know the Binghamton players very well. I'd say Claesson, Schneider, and Prince are the obvious re-sign candidates (though any of them could get moved in a deal). I'd also expect an offer tendered to Camper and Wideman.

What do you think?

I think they'll try to keep D.Grant too. Otherwise, I agree. Some nice contracts off the books soon.

I wouldn't be surprised to see grant move on on his own volition. He's not likely getting a shot up here unless a lot of bodies move out.

I think the sens will opt out of resigning culek.

I doubt there's any question about culek and guys like that. We need the roster space for better players and prospects.

I don't see why grant would move on, he won't get any better chance anywhere else. He can sign a 2 way and hope we trade some bodies and he wins a spot out of camp.

Both Legwand and Smith are Ahead of him for that fourth line C spot. I think he might actually do a better job than both those guys but you need to find takers.

Did they? I guess that settles that. One more contract available.

They were never gonna waste a contract on culek anyway.

They gave him a 3-year that just expired. You never know what they'll do with depth guys in the AHL. Shrug

Also they terminated the contract way back in January. I'm not sure what SpezD is actually talking about.

How much simpler can I say it? They weren't gonna waste a contract signing Culek again, they have other players that they want to sign or acquire.

I'm not sure what you mean by "again." He doesn't even have a contract. Curious.

How do you terminate a contract mid-season? They told him he could go and play elsewhere I assume, but he counted against our 50 contracts. You don't just wave your magic wand and the contract goes away.

You assume a lot of things and are often wrong. Like in this case, for instance. The contract was terminated way back in January by mutual agreement and he hasn't counted against the contract limit since that time. Since he had no contract...

Huh, I've never heard of that kind of thing before. Thanks for pointing it out and not being a sarcastic Wangsipper, I appreciate it. Puking2
