Yes, but they will not trade McBain. Pitkanen is more logical.

Yah, I don't see any reason why they would trade McBain but if you were to go after 1 guy, that would be it.

I see what you're saying but that's not the same at all. You could get McBain in a deal in the real world.

Another guy they could shoot for is Klein from Nashville. Sure shot NHL D man that plays a decent all around game. Nashville needs some prospects up front, that's for sure.

Actually the Canes aren't too high on McBain anymore IIRC because of the emergence of Schultz Faulk and their deep prospect pool.

They would have to turn McBain into a little more of a defensive D man though... round him out as an all around D man but there is no question he's an NHLer now. Personally, I think that's the kind of move Murray is looking to make but for what?

I personally wouldn't be sruprised if the Murrays go the trade route to aquire something more solid if they don't feel the need is filled internally.

I dunno...if P-Mac see that Matrix has some REAL rust issues in camp, I think he'll go with an alternative for the opener.

That said, I think the chances of that actually happening are really slim.

If Anderson has an awful camp and they move Bishop for some help, Lehner could very well get the call. Hell, if they keep Bishop he might get the call too. Not like you can shake the rust off in a week. I'm not saying it isn't likely Anderson starts, I am saying that in this circumstance it could very well be one of the other 2. Both are breathing down his neck despite a great season last year.

The other problem with a short camp is that if they have three goalies on their "list", is that enough time to really get a good look at all of them? With no pre-season games etc... not an easy task.

They have had a 3 month look at both Lehner and Bishop with Lehner getting the majority of starts. The organization has made their choice.
