The only real bad move was the Leclaire deal but it still made sense and they got Lehner out of it.

Hehe. I couldn't help liking Kovalev when he was on his game. What a dominant player. Mind boggling.

Campoli was a good D man for the Sens for 3 seasons. 26th overall pick? That gets you what? Murray got the player he wanted with the 26th pick anyways, wears #33 for the Sens. Keep things in perspective, they landed Silfverberg and Lehner in that draft, they didn't need the 26th overall pick. Murray and the scouts had a plan and it worked out pretty close to perfectly.

point is I don't think it would have cost a late 1st rounder to get campoli....they coulda had silfv AND someone else from the 26th pick.

It didn't make sense to me then, and still doesn't now. Campoli was very good at times but he clearly didn't fit the rebuild here since he got traded for a 2nd.

I'll downgrade it from horrawful, to just not good. No one is perfect.

My point was it didn't alter the team at all and they knew if they didn't make the playoffs that their 2nd rounder would be in the ball park of the 26th. They were right. Either way, the trade didn't work out but they took a chance on a 23 year old D man that is fairly well rounded.

Don't forget Murray traded Campoli for a 2nd rounder when all was said and done.

Also, no one knew how badly injured Comrie was.

That's a bad reflection of team doctor then, is it not? A team's got to do their due diligence when trading, if there's any concern.

Not if a player doesn't say anything. A player fighting to stay in the NHL will not tell anyone he is hurt.

It doesn't sound like Columbus is very serious in dealing with Murray. I really think they want to get a bunch of names out of us they can leak to other teams.

I really think this whole Nash talk is a serious waste of time and we're being used.

Entirely possible. Seems to me that Murray doesn't want to bothered with it either until Parise is signed. He has the right attitude.

Murray is right to do what he's doing. Let everything play out and make your move then.

Funny how people question Murray, make it sound like he has no idea what he's doing, forgetting what he has done in the past, in which people acknowledge and credit him with being crafty.

I love Murray...I think he's amazing...but we all know there are holes on this team and it gets scary waiting to see what he'll do...hard not to be slightly concerned when Michalek was available for free.

Let's see what he's got up his sleeve I guess.

Not sure I ever really questioned Murray myself. I think he's one of the best hockey people in the world and has been the last 30 years. Probably a HOF too.
