I remember when people said he was amazing and should win the Adams...

After his first full season for sure he was a contender for it. How could he not be? That said, his shelf life seem like it was about one season.

Why would we want Nash if he doesn't want to be here ?

Let some other team get shafted like we did with Heatley, I'll feel better it's not just us.

Couldn't agree more. You shouldnt have to beg or convince someone to be in any city. If that's how it is then let it go.

I thought he was amazing, had no idea he was an bunghole though.

And most importantly, we know that Nash’s list of approved teams, as it stands, is now at seven teams – the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks. There was speculation the Toronto Maple Leafs were on the list at one time, but they are no longer on it.

We're wasting our time.

Nice.

One big question is.. HOW do they know what teams are on Nash's list. I don't remember seeing that made public... and I don't think Columbus would tell the Hockey News who is on that list... Their best guess..

Regarding Bobby Ryan... He is a UFA in 3 years.

Anaheim is reported to want prospects/picks.

So if the Sens give up good ones to get Ryan and he walks in 3 yrs.. they lose big time.

Don't think I would go there.

Then you trade him again if he doesn't sign an extension.

Then you won't get much.

Pens won't get much for Staal now that it's public he won't sign an extension.

Maybe Murray and Melnyk should fly to Columbus and meet Nash at his house with DVD's about Ottawa Laughing3

That's 2 summer's away and I bet teams would still line up for a 27 year old Ryan with a year left.

3 years is a lifetime.

Send them MZ, Weircioch, 1st and a 3rd this year. If they don't like it, move on.

If Murray and Melnyk are okay with a 7.8M cap hit for the next six years, why not just go after Parise with a 7.5M x 7 year offer.

I don't think there's any need to include Wiercioch in that package. I would think something along the lines of MZ, 1st, Foligno (and maybe a middle pick or middle prospect) for Bobby Ryan.

My guess is that Anaheim wants a blue chip denfenseman prospect back. Shultz is hurting them.

Speaking of I kind of hope we take a run at Jim July 1st. Even if I doubt his character.

A 7.8 mil back loaded contract is a ton to take on. If ANYTHING goes wrong with Nash in Ottawa or anywhere for that matter the team that is stuck with him is in a lot of trouble.

He's owe somewhere around 40 million right now...

Which is the reason, to me, why no one will meet Howsen's ridiculous demands. Guy wants to make up for years of poor management with one trade -- it's just not happening. Those huge, long contracts, especially when signed by players at 27+ years old, hold negative value, regardless of who signed them.
