Yeah, but no offense to Richardson, this is a Jack Adams award nominee here in Ottawa. We'll give up shot, but he'll be running out a decent system.

And Richards is coaching the ASG.

I'm not saying Richardson won't be or isn't an excellent coach, but MacLean's an NHL coach, there's obviously a difference.

Both rookie head coaches. Richardson was a defenseman. MacLean scored goals. Sens scored a lot of goals Somehow B-Sens didn't prevent a lot of shots.

He also said Boroweicki and Wiercioch would get long looks. He didn't mention Benoit once, not even in passing.

Seemed very, very high on Wiercioch - at this point I would be shocked if he didn't make the Sens next week. He must be soiling himself in excitement.

I'm not surprised this is where Silfverberg will start. But I remain cautiously optimistic that that's where he stays.

As for Benoit, he was hired for veteran leadership, which we have plenty of in Ottawa. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing him up for the playoff run.

Benoit is getting paid 300,000 in the AHL for a reason... not like he's suffering down there.

The Oilers have been rebuilding ever since their surprising Stanley Cup appearance. The Leafs are in year 8 of a 3-year rebuild.

The rebuild excuse is gone with the Norris Trophy and playoff appearance. Yah, they are young and yah they could miss the playoffs but that doesn't mean it shouldn't or isn't the expectation.

Does sound like they are going to go with what they have on the backend though. They like Borowiecki and Weircioch a lot so may as well give them a chance. They are getting a head start anyways by playing 30 games already so they won't be out of place and won't get burned like they would in a normal year.

I would kill for Del Zatto though, RH shot who is decent all around and NYR may not be able to sign him before camp. Trade Ceci and Zibanejad for the guy for sure.

Think bigger than a 22 year old RH top 4 D man to slot in behind Karlsson? Not sure I can. If you're looking for the perfect player to come into Ottawa's blueline that's it.

I am not giving up on a 6th overall 19 year old just yet. No matter how much I love Silfverberg, Stone, Noesen etc, I am not trading the forward with the most potential on the team less than 2 years after the draft for anything less than a top pairing or top line player.

Which Del Zatto is bordering on as well as 3 years of development and exactly what the Sens need now and for the next 10 years. It's not giving up on anything, it's value for value.
