Not worth investing in a player of that age long term. I'd say go for Garrison or Allen, need a more physical, experienced D-man.

The other option is to let Cowen take over Kuba's role and icetime but he's probably not ready. Strangely, Cowen was at his best when Kuba was injured this year.

Suddenly the road is clear IMO...I like Kuba and would re-sign him personally, but he had a pretty crappy playoffs and there are options now. Plus...we owe him nothing and he owes us nothing.

Would you re-sign him? What is everyone's thoughts? Again, I would, but it's not as black and white for me as it was earlier in the year.

I'm not a huge Kuba fan either, but I just don't see a lot of alternatives. If BM does, power to him.

Packaging all those guys together might get something of value.

Individually, none of those guys are going to bring in a significant piece.

Foligno is a good 3rd line winger, and needs to be used as such.

Ideally a line of Foligno - Z.Smith - Neil will be used next year.

That said, it was damn frustrating to watch Foligno at time - both this year and in the post-season. Whether all the calls are legit or not, he takes some of the worst timed penalties imaginable - and he's a machine at taking offensive zone penalties.

Not sure what to say about Foligno...it's probably as much up to MacLean as it is Murray. We'll see. If we can move Foligno + 1st for a young D-man, then it's probably go time.

He took 4 the entire series, and one of them was definitely a wrong call. Even with that one, he took fewer than Kuba and Smith, and the same as Spezza. You tell me why Smith, playing 3rd line minutes, had more PIMs that Foligno on the 2nd line.

2nd on the team in scoring just one empty-net-goal back of Spezza. 4th in shots on goal. Missed tying it up last night when the puck just ticked off Lundqvist's shoulder and missed high by a couple of inches. Was 77% on face offs (he only took 13 draws -- JOB and Turris were both under 40% and both had more draws). Crashed the crease unlike most others. Didn't take too many penalties (8 minute, and should have been just 6).

I don't know why you think he's a third liner. He played better than 2/3 of our top line.

I said he's a good third liner, and I don't disagree that he played better than some other guys in our top 6. There were times during the year when he looked like a world-beater.

He played better than Michalek. And Greening spent the most time on the other side, and he played better than Greening.

Why? Because of the PP? Otherwise, I think that coaching staff were all amazing personally. Loved all of the work they did.

Someone tweeted the Florida PP stats with and without Garrison:

Mike Morreale ‏ @mike_morreale
Amazing stat: FLA power play w/o Jason Garrison 1/13; FLA power play w/ Jason Garrison 8/14 #flanjd

Of course they weren't playing against the Rangers. I wonder ...

I wonder if the Rangers would be so inclined to block shots with Garrison shooting, he could easily break some bones or "Laperrierre" someone's face.

When's the last time we had someone with a deadly shot from the point. I don't think Chara was known his shot when he was here, or was he ?

There are rumours that IF both become UFA's -- Parise & Suter want to be on the same team as they are good friends.

The question is.. what teams can take them both on.. Parise said it was about money and a contending team.. but if both of them are on a team on the rise -- they would make them a contending team.

Would be great... but I'm not sure.. As Chris Stevenson reported... someone had it on here... that unnamed Devils players contacted unnamed Sens players and said how lucky they were to play on a team with so much creativitity... or something to that manner.

But not counting them:

Alfie-Spezza-Silfverberg
Michalek-Turris-Foligno
Condra-Smith-Greening
Neil-Winchester-Daug, Konopka, O'Brien, Klinkhammer

Butler goes... as does Regin... and some of those 4th liners... Sens have to keep decent penalty killers.. that can't get rid of them all...

Zibanejad and Stone start in Binghamton along with Prince & Noeson if eligible to -- and then there is Claesson....

Phillips - Borowiecki
Karlsson - Cowen
Gonchar - UFA or Trade.
Carkner extra

Anderson
Lehner

Use Bishop to move up in the draft... to grab a stellar defenseman.

Is that crazy?

Shawn Simpson just suggested that Lehner might be used in a trade.

Garrison is a LH shot too so I am becoming more and more sold on that idea. Souray would be another guy I would look at.

I'd find a way to get one of the Anaheim trio. Preferably the Getz.

Boy, I'd have a hard time with Lehner being dealt personally. A goalie with that much battle in him combined with that much skill is hard to find.

I don't believe it, just saying it would have to be for a huge player. If the Sens trae Lehner they are looking at the short-term (the Anderson era) as opposed to the post-Anderson era.

well there are 3 big goalies in this draft. Question is would you want to use 15th overall on a goalie?

If they were to select Oscar Dansk, for example, there's your immediate Lehner replacement. Swedish, plays at all their international tournies, is a big game goalie with good size. He's a better prospect than Lehner was at the same age. Said to be one of the best Swedish goalie prospects in a while.

Then you have Subban who is very athletic, competitive, not as big as Lehner. Very Fleury like. He shut down the 67's for most of that first round series.

Then you have Andrei Vasilevski who is Russian, so that would be a no.

I don't see Lehner being dealt, but I could see it happening if they select Dansk. Not sure if that makes sense though and don't think they would pick a goalie (unless all their other desired players are selected).

It would make the most sense to trade Bishop if somebody was desperate for goaltending.

I am not an advocate of this and am certainly not an advocate of having two 1st (full) year goalies but I wonder what the market for Anderson would be? I really don't know but I don't think you could ever get more for him than you could now.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear some 'rumours' about it.

I find it unlikely they trade the pick. We need to draft a defenceman, Borowiecki looks like the only one in our system most likely to make any sort of impact at the NHL level. I'm just going to dream that Ceci falls to 15 Smile

honestly really don't want Ceci. Just find him so awkward skating-wise and we don't really need a pure PP guy (which he basically is).
