You are seeing exactly why Spezza is important to the team during the regular season, he will get the Sens into the playoffs most years but he is not a player you win with. He's a secondary center on a Cup team.

The Sens are not a cup team yet so the point is kind of moot but Spezza is showing exactly why he can;t be counted on. Sens wouldnt be in the playoffs without him but this is where you see how limited he really is.

We're playing against one of the best defensive teams in the league and have the worst top-6 of all playoff teams, of course they'll shut him down.

He was PPG in the playoffs before this series.

He hasn't had a good playoff since 07 man, it's been 1/2 a decade. You can point to that Pitt series in 2010 but he was AWFUL there. He's a player the Sens need during the regular season but he isn't a true captain or leader, it's prettu obvious.
