Where will he end up...?

No turning back now? Of course there is. All that Columbus has indicated is that they are going to listen to offers (and I'm not even sure they've said that). Most of this is just media-fuelled buzz.

If they get a good offer, why wouldn't they do it? If the offers aren't up to snuff, Nash isn't going anywhere. Don't forget that Nash's contract is big, and that could limit some teams' interest.

Silfverberg is better than Zibanejad right now. Nobody knows who will be better. Someone can say "x will be better than y" but until that happens, it's no guarantee.

And you can say that Zibanejad has an upside of being a top line winger, but until that happens, hes just a long-term prospect.

I'd take Nash over him right now anyday.

Big differences are age and salary. Zibby's cap hit is, what, $1.1M or some-such (and that's *with* bonuses) and it will not be higher than 4 million on his next contract (if it's $4M then I would already prefer him to Nash because that would mean he's doing great).

I think it happens now. They let it leak out that he's available and now there's a fury over it. I guess no turning back isn't correct, but I think it's 85% done at this point.

For the Sens? Rick Nash has like 5-6 good years left of being a top line winger... which means around 4 years for the Sens to win the cup with him.
Sorry, I take Zbad even if he ends up just a 2nd liner. But we'd have 15 years of it.

Seems like Habs fans are on board with adding Nash to the Montreal lineup.

I vote for Parise.

A trade means you have the guy though, a UFA is a crap shoot.

If the price is right, you do it. But the price is NOT right for Nash. I'm not willing to give up our high-end prospects for him, especially Z-Bad. I'd trade Silf though.

I'd go with the UFA crap shoot instead of the crap trade for Nash

If anyone actually knew what the exact price is, it would be easier to agree with you.

I don't know what the price is, that's the point. What SpezzD and others are saying is that a price like Zbad + 1st + michalek or whatever would be the price. I say massive overpayment, hence the price is NOT right. And I can't imagine Howson trading away his franchise player in any other scenario

Here's a quote that's making the rounds from Rick Nash:

"I'm a Blue Jacket right now. I've played my whole career here and it's a special place to me. So as of right now I'm a Blue Jacket."

No big deal right? Except that was his response to the question do you "want" to remain a Blue Jacket.

Pierre Lebrun says that Nash has submitted his short list to CBJ management of chosen destinations: Rangers, Flyers, Kings, Canucks, Leafs and "more." Sees Kings as the best fit.

Logic dictates that Nash would jump at the opportunity to leave Columbus to go to a contender. The guy has rotted away there long enough with little support. Of course he can't say anything publicly about wanting out, so he's stuck with non-committal remarks.

Of course not. Just pointing out that he does indeed want out by being non-committal because he could have categorically said "I want to stay" if that's what he wanted.

Imagine if he goes to Vancouver though.....wow. They have the pieces to get it done. Cody Hodgson + Cory Schneider + Vancouver 1st for Nash. Maybe add another piece(s) from Vancouver and get Steve Mason in the deal.

If Nash was traded to Ottawa, somebody has to go check on Riprock

Sorry. It sounded like what I posted but it seems like it actually was:

Pierre Lebrun says that Nash has submitted his short list to CBJ management of chosen destinations.

Then speculated about interested teams: Rangers, Flyers, Kings, Canucks, Leafs and "more." Went on to say, later, that he didn't know who was on the "list."

Sees Kings as the best fit.
