Ha. I don't drink, but I had to drive someone else's car to her home so that she wouldn't drive and kill herself. She drank almost 2 liters of wine and thought she could drive. Brutal. The 30 min walk from her front step to mine wasn't so much fun at 4am. There's nothing quite like a 50+ year old woman hammered in the front seat complaining that she isn't being permitted to drive her own car. When I got to her place she offered to drive me home because it was cold out.

I transferred to CU in the fall when I moved back here. Nice school.

I prefer Carleton's campus (by a long shot). You can't beat Ottawa U's location, but Carleton is just nicer.

As a former student and current prof at both schools, I can say that CU's definitely got the better vibe overall. U of O can come off really cold & medicinally & bureaucratic.

I'm taking a class at CU right now and must say I enjoy it more than the 2 years I spent at UO, but the sample size is small for now.

I've actually taken classes at 5 post secondary schools in Ottawa, so I feel like I'm a bit of an expert, haha.

I was at UTM (University of Toronto Mississauga Campus) and while a beautiful landscape, it was tiny. Carleton is massive (to me). And the scenery is nice, though it is a bit of a pain to travel to from Barrhaven.

What's everyone taking? I'm doing a concentration in Philosophy, Public Affairs and Ethics.

I took my degree in Psychology (Minor in Sociology) at Carleton and I really liked my overall experience. Things have changed considerably since I graduated in 2004 but it's remained a nice setting.

UTM? I just, just applied for a one-year teaching gig there. Glad to hear its so much smaller.

It's beautiful there. Surrounded by mansions and greenery.

Hells no. I'll just have to get the NHL Game Centre. Other possible work destinations include Florida and Louisiana, and I have no intention of becoming a TB, FLA, or NFL fan.

My daughter did both her BA's in Carleton (concommitantly) and she really enjoyed it. She's now doing her MA in Sydney Australia and it appears it's a different experience ... Prior to starting her MA, she spent 3 years teaching in Japan; The good news is that she has no choice but to move closer after this (unless she relocates on the moon) ...

Tampa Bay is an interesting team to watch. I could get into it. They'd always be my #2 team though.
