So it looks to me like he used the quote strategically. It's done in such a way that he can deny that the words are his, but he's certainly not arguing against the comment.

Exactly, he found someone saying what he wanted to say, he even used that quote as the headline for maximum effect.

Karlsson won't play in the NHL for a year or two or three, if he ever does. Real tough to get excited about him now.

And that quote I pasted is Brennan's own words, not attributed to anyone. There is a Mail To Friend link -- I wish I could mail it to Brennan himself, but he's no-longer advertising his e-mail address.

Good question. Maybe trying to figure out why all the other teams are so good?

They were just there early to get a good parking spot for the 2nd round.

Same thing they do at Sens games (when the Leafs aren't playing) ?

Leaf fans are amusing. Greg Brady on Fan 590 (https://twitter.com/#!/bradyfan590) did a re-draft of the 2008 Entry Draft and ranked Jake Gardiner above Karlsson. Even Ian Mendes got into a bit of a spat with him over that.

bradyfan590 Greg Brady
If you did 08 NHL Draft over (R1) here's my guess: 1.Stamkos 2.Doughty 3.Myers 4.Hodgson 5.Bogosian 6.Gardiner 7.Alex P 8.Eberle 9.Schenn

Hilarious how the media down in TO downplays everything on the Sens and upsells anything on the Leafs.

I'd hardly call bradyfan590 "media". But he was pretty good on The Brady Bunch!

I think the Sens will try to land Bryan Allen.

As long as the cost is very low maybe, otherwise what does he really bring that Carkner doesn't? Experience in the regular season maybe, but he's got no real playoff experience at all and has been pretty underwhelming the last few years.

Not sure...

I don't know if its possible, but wouldn't it be something....if winnipeg is still in contention for a playoff spot, they make a deal to somehow someway get Selanne back? They'd almost certainly part with their own first rounder to make it happen, though it'd be tough to swallow considering this to be selanne's last hurrah.

EDIT: and I'm sure selanne can be persuaded if the deal sits well with Bob Murray

A guy that MIGHT be a good fit if available is Ryan Smyth.

Gonchar plays the right side. We have exactly *3* defensemen who play the left side.

Did a little bit of research this morning and the guys I think I would try and get would be Dominic Moore or Brenden Morrisson. Lots of time until the deadline though, so other teams might fall out of the race.
