That's a good pitch for Corey Perry, but what about Ryan?

Anything less than that and you'll lose. Which is fine actually, as much as I'd like him, I like our prospect pool too.

Bobby Ryan isn't worth that, hell, put Foligno on that top line in Anahiem and he might put up a 25-30 goal season too. I hate how people just think because he's had a couple of good seasons he could do it anywhere.

Bobby Ryan, a nice player, probably a top line winger on most teams is not a franchise player nor a guy you cna build a team around. It's stupid how people get wet over something like this.

To me, he's a tier just below franchise - and I mean just. Scoring 100 goals by 23 is a hell of a feat, really not something that happens often. I'd say he's as close to a franchise winger being available as there will be for a long, long, long time. If he's even available - which I think is still ridiculous on Anaheim's part unless they end up with Weber or something similar.

Either way, if The Sens landed him I would be doing cartwheels but I still question what it would take to get him and why he is neing moved.

actually I've been thinking about this all day.
A:I don't believe BM is actually in on this.
B: if we were to make a move I'm actually not opposed to trading a guy like 9MM( i know people won't agree). it's a case of buy low sell high. I for one am not convinced this is the last we hear of injuries from michalek. and too be honest we only have a couple of years left of the guy. and he might walk after. ok BR only has an extra year but he's younger. by then we might have started being a real contender. everyone is struggling in anaheim right now so I'm gonna choose not to buy into all that red flag noise.
there is no way I'm breaking up our current yound D either.
they want gonchar, no problem. but i'd expect something along the lines of
to Ottawa:Bobby Ryan and a 2nd rounder
to Anaheim: 9mm, weircioch, a 1st and maybe another smaller piece.
I'm not interesting in trading any major prospects.

the way I see it 9mm being super hot right now is boosting the value of this package.

Kypreos must be salivating at the prospect of the Leafs going after Ryan. Would they give up 2 firsts and a 2nd for him?

Definitely Michalek+ for Ryan is a no-brainer but teams don't just trade players like that who are playing well, in the middle of the season. If what you have is working, why try to break it up? Michalek is a currently doing well. he is injury prone of course.

And Ryan leaves to UFA in 3 yrs - when the Sens are supposed to be coming out of the re-build... and the Sens game up the farm to get him. No thanks.

Me too - in a big way. Something's not right, and I also don't believe people saying Anaheim's only a one line team etc., move Ryan to line 2 and get a 2nd line C.

Apparently Anaheim wants a 2nd line C, top 4 D, and top prospect... so answer is no.

Pittsburgh should do Staal for Ryan. Deal.

Kypreos just said that he "thinks" he would trade Kadri for Bobby Ryan. Thinks?!? Seriously? As though Murray would ever make that deal. As though anyone would take that offer.

I'm sure Kypreos is a poster on hfboards.

Pttsburgh shouldn't do anything. Staal is more valuable than Ryan. Maybe not a better offensive player, but way more important. At this point if Shero trades any of his core players he is nuts

Ryan seems agreeable to the idea of a trade:

When asked if he would welcome a trade, Ryan said "in a perfect world, you get drafted and you stay with a team for your career and you win (Stanley) Cups," and added that he's not looking to be moved and wants to remain with the team.
"At the same time, it's the business side of things that all comes back to. If they feel like it's got to be the right move for the team, then I'd certainly welcome it.

Toronto seems like the perfect fit. Burke drafted him, he loves American players, Wilson has coached him, and Toronto has the pieces to acquire him.

I wouldn`t think twice about trading Schenn, Kadri and a 2nd for him. Would make for a very deadly top-six and would be of minimal impact player-wise to the Leafs. Kadri seems to always be hurt and has proved nothing. Schenn is grossly overrated.
