According to the Winnipeg Free Press, True North has offered the position to current Chicago Blackhawks assistant GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.

That's incredible.

Question... do they have to leave some tickets for sale to the public on game day? Or can they sell out the whole arena to Season Ticket Holders... like the Leafs do.

They have to hold back some tickets to allow for game day sales, tickets for players' family/friends etc... Winnipeg held back 2,000 tickets. Based on the response so far, they'll be sold out every night for a while.

Heh. I wonder if he was secretly hoping they would not hit the 13,000 mark so he could point to it as a reason for failure...

This supports a move to Quebec City even more... Phoenix has got to go there after next season... GOT TO.

Moose head coach Claude Noel is the favorite for the "Jets" HC position but I believe it'll technically be Cheveldayoff's decision (assuming he accepts the position).

Assuming they let Ramsay go would he be a good choice for the Sens ? (kinda OT)

Early speculation was that Heisinger would be given the GM job, so the Cheveldayoff hire is a bit of a surprise. I wonder if there's anyone in the Chicago pipeline that might be considered for the coaching gig?

Mike Haviland was mentioned a few times most notably for the Florida job (due to his connections with Tallon).
