A place on the waiting list requires a one-time non-refundable deposit of $50 per seat with a maximum of four seats. The amount is not applied against any future purchase.

Hahaha. So the privilege of being on the waiting list is $50 a seat?

To think I work for a living. Apparently, there are much easier ways to make money. Just have people freely hand it over to you for nothing in return.

EDIT: Hey, at least it's only a one-time fee. True North are quite charitable.

The ace up their sleeve is that they can hold nearly unlimited outdoor games. They can guarantee ice-making conditions in November. The new stadium will be ready in 2012.

Next year (and every year after) you pay $100 to stay on the list.

However all amounts collected (except the first $50) will be applied toward your season tickets purchase (if/when you get them).

Still at $50, if the list ever gets as long as the Leafs' season ticket list, that's a lot of cheddar.

Like I said, you are paying for the privilege of being on the list. Not to mention they get to hold your money, and collect any interest that accrues on it. Free money, in other words.

Don't we all. I'm just surprised that they'd openly take people's money like that. Actually, wait, I'm not surprised lol.

At the same time, it certainly speaks to the thirst for hockey that Winnipegers have been feeling these last years. It's wonderful that the city is so determined to support their team.

The $50 is basically a donation. Who knows what True North will do with it. I don't know that everyone knows that they'll be taken to the cleaners for the tune of $50. Then again, what can you do if you want on the waiting list. It just seems like shady business practice to me.

You get priority access for playoff tickets and a few other things (like attendance to 1 season ticket holder event) so you do get something for the $50.

New team name .....

And when a Whiteout player wipes out in the corner -- it will be a Whiteout wipeout.

Actually I thought of that name and I'm pretty sure I'd heard it, too.

wow unbelievable. They reached their goal less than 5 days when they had over 20 days to achieve this. Very impressive.....once again, Ottawa fans take some Cussing notes

I still laugh when I think of that crazy trade when Dud was asst gm here. We got Rob Zamuner and Tampa got Rick Dudley and the gate from two neutral site exhibition games. My memory is likely faulty but the structure of the trade was similar to what I wrote. You don't see many managers making trades like that anymore.

Because trades like this are not allowed under the new CBA.

That's incredible.

Question... do they have to leave some tickets for sale to the public on game day? Or can they sell out the whole arena to Season Ticket Holders... like the Leafs do.
