Preliminary talks between Senators and goalie Craig Anderson have begun. No $$$ mentioned yet

Game on. I would expect this to be done by next weekend (IMO).

This could be tricky. Anderson’s a guy that’ll certainly be looking to cash in, and we’re a team that SHOULD be a little gun-shy when it comes to handing out long contracts to goalies.

Anyway, here’s hoping they come to a somewhat reasonable agreement. I’d be looking at about $10-$11M over three years.

I think 3 years is about right but a 4 year deal wouldn't scare me away personally especially if it makes it a lower cap hit.

I wouldn't mind a 4 year deal.

Lehner has been all talk so far, I don't feel comfortable in predicting him to be the #1 here 3 years from now.

The more competition the better, we shouldn't be rolling out some red carpet for him.

4 years is way too risky for a relatively "unproven" goaltender (meaning he has shown the talent, but not yet shown consistency and a great attitude so far)...hasn't been signed to a long-term deal before. 2 is ideal.

Any goalie we could hope to sign would be a risk. There's no one else.

He just turned down a 2-year deal, it'll be 3-4 years.

While the Sens and their fans have goaliephobia we're going to have to roll the dice at some point.
