I think they should do that for all the roster players Smile

Who the hell is "gpalie guide" and "Goldman"?

I'll let the professionals and the guys who don't blog daily make the decisions as they actually know what's going on.

Is that he said ? I went on the radio but I think I missed his talk on Anderson.

The Goalie Guild - Justin Goldman. He's runs an independant scouting service, and is part of the Professional Hockey Writers Association. I also believe he works with the Avalanche in some capacity. Dude really knows his stuff, even though he might not be "professional".

He's just saying what he thinks would be best for Ottawa or any team to get the best out of Anderson (as he doesn't have a good work ethic apparently). He may be right, as Anderson has never really played with a longer-term deal than 2 years, and that second year with the Avs was bad for whatever reason.

Yeah, it wasn't much more than those tweets you showed.

That's just his opinion. I think he knows he won't always be right all the time, as nobody is, even the professionals.

Well here are the options.

Sign Anderson to a 3 year deal as he probably won't sign for less and have a number 1 goalie going into next year OR... is there actually another option?

I'll tweet him that and see what his rebuttal is haha

Well in all seriousness lets exercise some common sense. Ottawa needs a number 1 goaltender, doesn't matter if he is motivated or not. I'm sure Brian Elliott will be looking for work after the season is over.

This is understandable, but you wouldn't want a guy who sulks around when you're team is in a retool/rebuild, especially with all the young guys, specifically young D-men, who are going to be on this team. My opinion is to sign him for 2 years if he would agree to that, and hope that he doesn't sour on the Sens like the Avs, which I don't think will be a problem if what his agent said about the org was true. I think 2 years is good because Lehner could be ready for a starting role by then (3 years from now), or at least a good chunk of starts.

Just for fun, if Anderson says he doesn't mind signing a 1 year deal, would you rather have that than 3 years?

2 year would be ideal because of the security. A 1 year deal you may be paying out the a$$ for him the season after. Something is going on in Colorado that people obviously don't know about because that team has totally come apart at the seams. They literally might win 1 game in 35 or so games, tough to blame that on Anderson and it's pretty easy to understand him being sour on that organization as he was the fall guy this year after single handedly getting them into the playoffs and winning them 2 games last year.

The Avs are not the class organization they used to be.

I like what he writes about goalies and he's in Colorado so he's been watching Anderson for a while.

He seems to imply that Anderson has trouble being motivated, when the team is doing well he'll do well.

When the team is losing or in a slump he'll follow suit, he's not the type of guy who will hold the fort when the team is doing bad. Ie. he's not like Vokoun who's been playing well for a while on a crappy Panthers team.

I don't know, he does sound like a bitter Avalanche fan, he was ranting at what they've doing the past while.

That's BS because The Avs played a ton of games including that playoffs where he stood on his head and literally carried that entire team. If he isn't standing on his head of course he looks bad and unmotivated because the team sucks and they get lit up. He probably is a bitter Avs fan and they got Elliott in return for a guy that can literally carry a team all year long.

What a tool. Why would he settle for a 1 year deal, he'll just walk out and hit free agency where he'll get the security that Ottawa would be downright stupid not to give him. All of this talk about the pros and cons of re-signing Anderson that I've been reading about, is ludicrous. If he leaves, we are downright screwed, there's honestly no other options. Bryz isn't going anywhere, why would Vokoun want to play for another team not headed to the playoffs. We've finally found a great goalie folks, let's hang on to him.

Second option is bend over and ... say hello to another lottery pick.

Thanks but I should also mention I don't even have a bike right now.

Seriously, if The Sens let Anderson walk they will have 1 goaltender under contract for next year, that's it. Lehner will be the only player under contract and he isn't even an adult yet. The Sens need Anderson way more than he needs them despite any fall backs that may occure.
