It seems as though that was tweeted by a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure an SPC is not voidable by player or club even if both agree.shabbs wrote:Redden considering voiding his contract to play again?

He would "void" it by not reporting to his current assignment... he'd be walking away from all that money.Oglethorpe wrote:It seems as though that was tweeted by a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure an SPC is not voidable by player or club even if both agree.shabbs wrote:Redden considering voiding his contract to play again?

Dregger is saying that he doesn't see Richards resigning in Dallas. Apparantly Richards and Neal were close friends.Bass Destruction wrote:I think part of this deal, at least on Dallas' side, is to clear some money in order to try and get Richards signed, while still remaining under their own internal cap. It has been rumoured that they are trying to sell the team, and thus trying to keep their pay roll low, and Niskanen was set to earn $1.75M next season, while Neal is set to earn $3.5M. With Goligoski only being $2.75M in salary next season, the Stars are saving $2.5M, which they part goes towards replacing the forward spot with a young player, but the other part going towards Richards contract.
And with the emergence of Jamie Benn as well, it eases the loss for Dallas. Although one would think that for the package of Neal and Niskanen, Dallas could have at least gotten a pick or prospect as well.

Next step is re-signing Ruff.

The asking price is humongous though. Lilies is the next to go IMO. To Toronto perhaps?

Possibly Buffalo as well (he's good friends with Miller) and the Sabres just got a non-cheapskate owner.
I'd imagine Stastny would command a high price, few teams could take that contract on though.

I'm still wondering why the Avs gave up Stewart + Shattenkirk. I watched parts of the Blues game yesterday or Sunday (whenever it was) and Stewart's a legit power forward. Those guys don't grow on trees - although, I realize that the EJs of the world don't either - I would have stuck with Stewart and Shattenkirk and looked for a smaller deal to bring in a puck-mover - or drafted one this year.
