Bobby Mac says the Sens are listening to offers for Neil and Fisher as well - if the right offer is presented - they're not actively looking to trade either.

Neil is slightly overpaid yet kind of underrated too. I'm not crazy about the idea of moving him but whatever.

Oh, of course. Obviously, they would get more with an offer sheet alone. Just saying that it would be nice to make that agressive move.

as of right this minute if you were to trade parise, all you'd get is one more year as he'll be UFA the next. theoretically you could get him under contract for much longuer but that's not the present case.

NJ might not get any offer sheet and parise might walk next summer.

It's hard to come up with a proposal that doesn't see us moving one of Cowen or Rundblad (probably Rundblad) + our 1st + Fisher to even the salary out. As much as that hurts, I'd still do it.

sens can only deal for parise in the off-season, and unfortunately offer sheet might be the only way to go. but they certainly can't do what the leafs did.....so please no 2 first rounders. How much do they need to offer parise to only limit themselves to next year's 1st, 2nd, and whatever?

Wait - and why can the Sens only deal for Parise in the off-season? He's coming back from the LTIR, so he should be movable soon.

i imagine he'd be re-signed to a long extention? because that a steep price for a guaranteed one year.

why would the sens deal for him now??? they're not even buyers, unless you're speaking generally about any team trying to pick him up. Sens need to just concentrate on picking up assets and prospects. Who knows? maybe they can parlay some of that into Parise (fat chance though)

Because Parise is different, he's young, he's already scored 40 and 30 goals in the league, he's a franchise winger and he's basically everything the Sens want/need besides an elite goalie. Why wait and have other teams clamouring for Parise when you can do it now and introduce him to his teammates ahead of time.

I'll be honest, I just want to acquire him and sign him to a 7 X 6.5. I don't care where we are in the standings, or what we give up (although, the 1st and Rundblad will hurt a lot).

7 years, 6.5 million per year is the offer - and I'm sure that's along the lines of what he's looking for.

It's just a fantasy anyway, it's never gonna happen unfortunately (or fortunately depending on where you stand on it).

i'd do it but swing rundblad instead of cowen. anyways that's like giving away 2 1st rounders. i'd even throw in a 3rd, but could we switch this years 1st for next year? who know where we'll be then but with a healthy spezza and parise and a re-tooled line-up we could be making the playoffs again. we might be sellers now but we'll be buyers july 1st.
