Clouston even said he's been healthier lately which is why he is playing better.

No one is going to take a contract like that off our hands without sending back an equal one.

But yes I noted the Sarcasm

Not if his knee is feeling better and he continues to play the way he has recently.

I prefer not to wait to find out and simply declare him damaged goods. Dancing

Like #Flames, #Senators have also indicated their plans to sell. Spezza/Alfie/Fisher not moving unless things change, all others on market.

I could see the Sens org. feeling the same way after Cheechoo and Emery. Away with Michalek! Lalalala

In that case we can expect trading him another set of damaged goods for a similar cap hit. Would you be willing trade 'damaged knees' for 'multiple concussions' for example ? Smile

Yup. This team is serious about changing for the better. Laugh1

Unless things change? Like losing more? Laughing3

Ah. For some reason his latest updates aren't coming up for me.

Michalek is playing much better. I would definitely keep him.

As for Pierre M as GM. It is obvious that a lot of you don't like him because of his on-air personality. Do you also have inside information that there are quite a few players in the NHL that don't like him?

I really don't care one way or the other but there were 2 teams that considered him for their GM -- so he does have some knowledge.

John Davidson went from broadcast booth to GM to President of St. Louis -- he has done a good job.

Gillies in Vancouver was a player-agent. He is also doing a very good job.

So if these two can make the jump to the GM job without any prior experience.. why do you state that MacGuire can't? Just because you don't like him?

I'm all for Clouston staying next season. This team will get younger and he appears to be able to deal with these young guys.

If he is not back and Sens don't want a 're-cycled' coach -- like Hitchcock (god I hope not)-- I would look to any asst coach in the league who could be ready for a Head Coaching job. Someone possibly like Kirk Muller?

That's a real tough one, part of me never wants to see another inexperienced coach, the other part of me definitely doesn't want Hitch or anyone as oppressive as that.

My head is still spinning from the previous coaching changes! Laugh1

I really can't begin to want to put any thought into yet another candidate. Specially with The Fonz currently employed. Frustrated2

Dallas_Dave is bringin' it today:

NYR called DAL for Richards, DAL offered back Ribeiro. NYR balked. With Dubinsky out, I wonder if that changes.

Lots of inexperienced coaches have cracked the NHL including the guy on the opposition last night (Randy Carlyle).

I don't think it's Clouston's inexperience that's holding him back if anything.

The successful NHL coaches who were hired with no NHL experience tend to be former NHL players so maybe that's what missing in Clouston's resume.

Captain Kirk would be nice but I suspect he's waiting til Jacques Martin is gone.

Someone call Glen Sather and Nieuwendyk, ask them if anyone named Dave recently did work on their telephone.

Once again, there is a lack of quality coaches IMO. The same old recycled names going back and forth.

Let's just hire Randy Cunneyworth please. Plus, we'd get the added benefit from poaching him from the Habs organization.

The BONANZA marches on!

‎ Dallas_Dave‎ Eriksson, Ott, Robidas, Daley, and Lehtonen all get real money raises next year. #Stars must cut cash to keep Richards. Question is when?
‎ Dallas_Dave‎ Somehing percolating between #Stars and #Leafs, nothing imminent. Not Richards, but Stars cutting cap space. Could be a while, still chasing

I've been saying this since last summer. I wanted him hired actually as the Bingo coach...would have been a perfect transition for our upcoming prospects too
