We're not getting Landeskog or Zibanejad. We're getting both Sarcasm

They are good friends and went shopping in TO, where Landeskog was approached by a modelling agency Laugh1

I can really see Ottawa getting two top-10 picks. So many draft picks and prospects available

Anyways, if The Sens don't end up moving up to grab Landeskog I am telling you right now they will be picking Zibenejad in that number 6 hole, maybe even move down to grab him. He may not have the extreme high end potential that a player like Strome has but he is 100% a safer bet a very good NHL player with pretty close to no bust risk. He could make the team out of camp next year if he decides to stay in North America next year.

He is 100% the late riser that people are always looking to find in this draft, the kid is the real deal. The Sens will end up with a North American Swede within the first 6 picks.

What about Strome though? We need some high level talent really badly, would the Sens pass on him.

Okay -- they stay at 6 -- and concentrate moving that 21st pick into the top 10. We have seen that the NYI don't mind moving down in the draft... but would they move down 16 spots? What/who would it take...

Would it not be awesome to pick @ 5th & 6th... but that is a dream only.... will never happen.

I wouldn't really say Zibanejad is this year's Skinner. Skinner was not really a late riser he was just someone who had a lot of question marks (Strength, size, all around game and skating). But the guy led the OHL in goals in his draft year and it's not his fault if some Scouts are not doing their job. Zibanejad, well... I don't really see the big offensive skills but then again I only saw highlights on youtube but I think we agree he's not gonna score 60+ pts in the NHL... His stats in the Junior league are turning me off for a 6th overall pick...
Although one thing I won't take away from Zibanejad and Landeskog is their will and determination. They have the right bodies and attitudes, but can they really be more physically dominant against men knowing they won't be that much bigger?
Strome, RNH and Huberdeau to me will be the biggest offensive threats in this draft and in 2 years when we will be ready to compete they will be nice on the 2nd line. Silfverberg might become a good 2nd liner but we have absolutely nobody on the pipeline that can take over a game offensively this year might be our only chance, let's not waste it. I fear Landeskog and Zibanejad don't have the potential.

Zibanajed is def not Skinner, no. Skinner scored 70 goals last year.

Why wouldn't Zibanejad be a 60+ point scorer? He wouldn't be ranked where he is if he couldn't do that. 60 points isn't that great either so I'm not sure what you're implying there.

If peopel seriously doubt Landeskog then watch him play and look at his PPG stats. He will easily be a 30 goal scorer at the NHL level, and there's a reaosn he is ranked so high. If it's between him and Strome it's a no-brainer.

If they pick Zibanejad they like him and we should too. All we've seen is like 2 youtube videos of the guy, and statsheets for Swedes are always underwhelming.

Yeah, but there mock draft was a little wacky. Is Edmonton really going to take Larsson first, when all the talk in that town is about RNH? I dunno. Maybe I'm way off...I understand their need for a D prospect, but I just don't see them passing up RNH.

In my mock (just guesses lol, I'm no expert) I have Landeskog dropping to 6 and Rocco Grimaldi being taken with the 21st.

We need to find a way to get Grimaldi.

That is why I'll trust the scouts 100 times out a 100.

I don't understand how someone can question Skinner's skating? He was among the best skaters in that draft, and remains one. afterall, he was a figure skater.

Hearing prospect Mika Zibanejad could go as high as No. 3 in the June NHL draft.

I hope Florida takes him @ 3 and Landeskog/Couturier/Huberdeau falls to six.

The New Jersey Devils might be interested in selecting Swedish forward Mika Zibanejad with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft.
He attracted a positive buzz for himself during the NHL's Scouting Combine and is the second ranked European skater behind defenseman Adam Larsson going into the draft. Zibanejad plays a rugged style of hockey to go along with his offensive skills. However, selecting him at number four might be a bit of reach for the Devils, especially when great potential prospects like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Gabriel Landeskog, Jonathan Huberdeau and Larsson are ranked ahead of him

This is great! Every year there's a guy who rockets up the rankings and it looks like Zibby is that guy for sure. If he goes top 5, he pushes someone down to the Sens.

Except that in the video you can hear the scouts discussing a defenceman that most feel at most will be a 5/6 guy. Who is that? Hamilton, Murphy or someone else? Or maybe they were talking about someone available around 21? Oleksiak?
