The actual thing to do, is not to bother. Has anyone, ever, at the end of these arguments said "oh yeah, good point, you were right this whole time"???

Isn't the AHL where prospects play? Those young players in the NHL I don't think count as prospects do they?

I didn't really want to to be honest. We were arguing about the Leafs being in the top 10 on HF and the Sens being at 16 - so we were going player for player. The AHL argument works for sure, but I felt there was more to gain by trumping their prospects one by one - and boy, they didn't like that at all. Smile

A lot "elite" prospects never actually play in the AHL anymore, they go right to the NHL after junior. Our prospects are playing overseas for example.

Rundblad is one example of many. He's a guy that may never play a game in the AHL, but is a great prospect. Jared Cowen might be another guy that sees very little time in the AHL.

Also, the B-Sens might not even be in the playoffs if it weren't for Barry Brust...who's got nothing to do with the Ottawa Senators. Currently, the B-Sens are a good example of an AHL team BEING reflective of a teams prospects, but that's not always the case with AHL affiliates.

If you're going to argue with a Leafs fan, try "walking a mile in his shoes" first. Then, by the time you start arguing, you'll be a mile away and he won't have his shoes on.

Other media writers will be doing the same, especially if Huberdeau keeps up his knack for OT goals(except tonight vs Kootenay). He is not going to be available at 6, that's for sure.

No guarantees. The Memorial Cup won't sway scouts too much, IMO.

In a draft where there's no clear cut N1 (RNH being the only stand-out), a stand-out performance against the best the country has to offer will certainly influence scouts IMO.

I'd love to have Jurco on the Sens. He seems like the kind of guy who would get a goal here and there when the team struggles offensively. Crazy hands and actually battles pretty hard. Needs lots of coaching and more smartness though.

It's like 5 games, I don't think it makes a huge difference. Scouts know who he is by now. Plus he hasn't been dominant, I think Jurco has been better.

if we draft Lando IMO we might regret not grabing someone else further down the line.

Any good goalies in this draft that we might take a flyer on? We could use a couple.
