If there is one wild card team it's Florida, if there is one wild card player it's Murphy.

Are you from New England by any chance? Wink

Murray was at the game last night. Too bad he didn't score!

He was a ghost the entire series and if he played like that since Feb/March no wonder he's slipping in the rankings.

He's the only reason Drummondville was even contending.

He was not a ghost for the entire Gatinieau series. He was still hitting a lot and scoring some goals, but he was definitely drained. Whoever gets him has a steal on their hands because he will be healthy going into next year and he will be able to train and prepare for the season properly, unlike this season due to his mono.

I personally think the Sens would have him 4th in terms of forwards, but who knows.

Our opinions are lining up more and more. I'm not sure if that's a cause for concern or not Laugh1

The only thing that seems to be certain is RNH is the number 1 guy. That's why I think it is 100% possible that Murray moves up into the top 3.

I don't see Tallon trading the pick, he's got nothing in Florida now and Landeskog is one of the more marketable players in the draft (if he's available at #3).

Couturier, Strome or Huberdeau, I think we're staying at #6.

Florida has no fans so they don't need to pick the guy who would be the most marketable.

I would say Landeskog is probably the least marketable guy. He probably has the least amount of offensive upside of the guys in the top 6. In Ottawa, sure, you have that swedish captain thing going for you, Florida, they need flash and they need scoring. I am not saying LAndeskog isn't a Tallon type player but to say he is marketable is stretching it.

Florida needs picks and prospects a lot more than Ottawa does at this point and if they can add an extra 1st or a couple of 2nd, they may do it.

Actually Florida has one of the best prospect groups in the entire league, so what they need at this point isn't necessarily more prospect depth, but a top end forward to carry their offence (too bad the only guy who may fit that mold without too many question marks is RNH and he'll be gone).

Murray has seen a lot of Couturier apparently, so maybe he sees what he likes Nod

If NJ and/or NYI has their mind set on a D -- i.e., Hamilton and/or Murphy -- I think there's a chance we could move up to 4th or 5th. I, too, have a hard time seeing FLA trading that pick, especially in Landeskog is still available.

I guess the question is, is there any sense in moving up if the big three -- RNH, Larrson, and Landeskog -- are gone? Maybe not. Laugh1

What!? Crud! I have a freaking exam at 2. That angers me since he's one of my faves.

Do we trade Nashville's pick + our 2nd rounder OR Foligno + the 6th overall to move up and grab Landeskog if he's still there at Florida's pick? Or is that too much - or too little?

Take a step back Milbury, that is way, way too much to give up. 6th + 20th?? + 36th to move up 5 spots. If Landeskog turns into Patrick Stephan or Alex Daigle, the franchise is set back along ways. If you miss with the 6th pick you still have a chance to get players at 20 and 36.

They do but that's not why they need more prospects. They need them because no one will ever resign in Florida that is worth a damn and has UFA status, they need to keep a fresh group of prospects at all times to even try to stay competitive. Prospect depth is the only way they will stay relivent.

Nope, that's wayyyy too much. I think it would be any 2 of those 3 assets you mention. But there's no precedent.

Yeah, that's the price though, so the question still stands. That's one vote for no.

I think the part where I said "That's wayyyyy too much" would probably count as a second vote for "no".

Typical "moving up" trades involve two picks for one pick. The two picks include one later in the same round, and one in the next round.

The 6th overall for sure + the Nashville pick maybe? I'd love to not give up the 2nd rounder as well.
