Stargazing or Star Struck?...

"Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it's amazing what they can accomplish." (SamWalton)
The Skinny on the Sens: The Sens seem to be starting to turn the corner after a very emotional and busy week for them. There has been a lot that has happened in the last 12 days for the Senators organization. They all seem to want to get back on the right page and start to win and come together again. They had a good start with their first game back home since returning from their 8 day road trip in which they played 4 teams. The only win they could squeeze out of that road trip was against the Boston Bruins when they shut them out by a score of 2-0 during an extremely emotional time. After having played the L.A. Kings here on Monday night, they seem to be getting their game back in order. They squeaked out a win against one of the top teams in the West, thank you in part to the Hockey Gods. They were on the Sens side that night. The Sens are now 6-4-0 in their last 10 games.
The Skinny on the Stars: The Stars have lost their last 4 contests on the road. They have a record of 5-4-1 in their last 10 games and 2-4-1 in their last 7 games. They have just embarked on an 8 day 5 game road trip that started in Toronto on Monday and lost by a score of 4-1. It's pretty hard to lose that badly to a team like Toronto who couldn't buy a goal lately. I can't imagine the Stars are happy with their play of late and the last game must have served as a great wake-up call for a team that desperately needs to start turning their season around. They are definitely going to come out flying tonight, the Sens need to be prepared.
This should be a hard fought game for 2 teams that have had their share of struggles lately. I expect nothing less than an exciting team tonight filled with emotion.

Senators Extra Wildcard: David Hale, Senators. Okay, it's not often that a sixth defenseman - and one with little offensive upside to boot - is seen as a game-changer, but the Senators are an impressive 8-3 when he's in the lineup. Meanwhile, two more expensive, younger and dynamic options (Karlsson and Lee) will likely be watching another contest from the press box. There's something to be said for a guy who doesn't make many mistakes and plays a very simple game.
