What a terrible game for every single player. I think Alfie was the worst Senator on the ice.

They went hand-in-hand I guess. Smile

Can't we sit them down for a game or two? Give some young guys a bit of a chance, but more importantly, we need that line to click so Spezza has some support. That seems to be the 64,000 dollar question in Ottawa. Either one line is producing or none are. In the rare moments when both are - this team is unstoppable, but with the inconsistencies this team has shown - both defensively and offensively, it's also a recipe for disaster some nights.

Damn. I wish we had two consistent lines. Mad I love my team, but heck there are a few things that drive me nuts about them sometimes.

^ The point of that rant is that we need them healthy - they should be sat down to be healthy and start to click. I may have gone off topic there. Smile

That's what I don't get. When Fisher said he couldn't initiate contact, WHY DID HE PLAY IN THE NEXT GAME, and the game after that (tonight)?!?!?!?! Either Clouston tells him to rest for a game, or Fisher mans up and sits one out for the team. Ugh.

He's not really a typical second line centre anyway (IMO of course), so having him playing hurt is even worse.

Yeah man, this needs to happen. He's no good to us at 60%, none. I'd prefer Z.Smith, O'Brien, anyone would be more effective. Please Fisher, either you're good to go, or sit a couple out for the good of the team. Alfie too.

Don't you wish we had a young stud like Claude Giroux Sad. I thought he would get only like 55-60 points this based on the depth that Philly has, but he is now pretty much a lock for at least 70...maybe more.

Yes I do. He's amazing, I think me might be good for 80 points this year and 100 in the near future, he's that good to me. He's little though, hopefully he doesn't get broken.

Twice in three games is troubling to me personally. I'm fine with the whole move on theory, but we need to make sure some of these issues that pop up against the elite teams get fixed.

Steal of the draft, if you can call him that in the 22nd slot. Imagine if the Kings took him at 16 instead of forward Trevor Lewis?

2006 was a horrible draft after the first round. Actual steals include Perreault (177th) for Washington and Condra for us with the 4th last pick overall.

After the first round, all you have after the 3 previously mentioned are Neuvirth, Bouchard, McGinn, McBain, Clutterbuck and Stalberg. Lots of time left for the other 205 guys selected, but that is it so far.

Geez, McBain went low for how good he is. Stalberg too - he's a 6th rounder, right?

Well, that's why they're elite and that's why we're not.
To me, as long as it doesn't get to the players' heads, it's fine.

Correct, and another terrible trade by Burke.

Eh, Philly is a really, really good team. I'm somewhat happy with that game because we showed in the first period that we could play keep-away and impose our system on even the best of teams.

In the beginning of the season, the talent was there but the chemistry wasn't. Now the talent and chemistry are there but the discipline needs work (and the team defence on the powerplay needs a lot of work), and we need some of our guys to get healthy (specifically on that other scoring line of Michalek - Fisher - Alfredsson). But it's still cause for optimism, IMO.

I think Fisher should sit. Bless his heart for playing through his injury, but he looks like Bad Spezza right now.
