Did we sell another 1000 tickets because of this news?

I think now is the best time to be facing the Pens. They are dealing with a very shaky goaltender right now and Crosby has no one to play with.

Good, I'm happy he's staying in.

Very odd. I thought for sure it would be Elliott tonight.

Here's the career stats for both against Carolina and Montreal:

Leclaire vs Carolina: 1-3-0, 2.91 GAA, .904 sv%
Elliott vs Carolina: 3-1-0, 1.83 GAA, .928 sv%

Leclaire vs Montreal: 3-1-1, 1.51 GAA, .949 sv%, 1 shutout
Elliott vs Montreal: 3-1-1, 2.90 GAA, .903 sv%, 1 shutout

Talk about not putting your guys in a position to succeed.

Carolina hasn't done well in Ottawa lately and Ward has terrible numbers vs. the Sens. Perhaps this is a way to get a win for Leclaire?

If they lose, they make an excuse. If they win they're not real nice about it.

still, they got a brand new arena. It'd be cool to go check that out, win or lose for the sens. I say you go

Is Clouston playing for Leclaire to win or for the team to win? You put in the guy with the better numbers in the matchup. According to those stats, that guy is Elliott.

Brennan must be freaking out. Clouston said Elliott will get one of the next two games; Leclaire is starting tonight. Which means Elliott is starting on Saturday. But Clouston never reveals his decision until game day. I can't let you do that, Cory ... unable to compute ... unable to compute .... daisy... da-ai-sy ... .

On a related note, last season the Sens seemed to play a better and more confident game in front of Elliott than they did in front of Leclaire.

I wonder if that trend will continue, or if it's completely null thanks to Leclaire getting his groove back. Since Elliott will play soon, anyone care to make a prediction?

I think some of that left over feeling/momentum/energy/whatever you want to call it will carry over they will play better in front of Elliott, regardless of how well he plays.

Edit: Yes, I avoided logic in my prediction.

Eesh, I didn't realize it was that lopsided. Maybe it should have been Elliott then, we desperately need these 2 points tonight. Anything less than a win is a fail.

What are the stats this year? ... Thought so.

What if I say his SV% percentage against a particular team is converging to his overall SV%?

How mean is it to put Elliott in there vs the Habs on the weekend and let Leclaire try to handle the Canes? Should be the other way around - or it should be Leclaire getting both starts. Elliott being thrown into the fire on Saturday doesn't give me a good feeling - at all.

Ride Leclaire for a while, or put Elliott in there tonight. Otherwise he shouldn't get a start for a while IMO.

Winchester in, Smith out (is what it looks like) from Mendes and Chirp.

I don't really want Smith out, it frustrates me.

Canes are the better team vis a vis les Habitants.

In Montreal changes everything. Also...I don't agree.

It's not always all about stats. Perhaps this is Clouston saying I'm not tossing you out on your ear because of a bad goal vs. the Caps. Prove that I made the right decision. Perhaps he's seen things he really doesn't like in practice from Elliott.

I vote for him not getting a start for a while. We need a number 1 guy, to do that he needs to play the 1st 10 games of the season. No less than that.

With goalies being so fragile mentally and all, I wouldn't be surprised if Clouston wasn't lying about Elliot for sure getting a start in the next two games. If Leclaire has a great game against the Canes, he'll play in Montreal, if Leclaire has an average or bad game against the Canes, he can put Elliot in against Montreal and say, "I'm just doing what I said I would do", and Leclaire's ego is in tack.
