GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Carolina Hurricanes - 7:00pm ET - WED. Nov. 17, 2010
"Storm warning!"
"Storm warning!"
The Ottawa Senators (9-8-1, 19pts) visit the Carolina Hurricanes (8-9-0, 16pts). Ottawa is coming off of a disappointing loss to the Flyers on Monday night 5-1. The Sens were simply out classed and out worked at least on this particular night. Ottawa definitely has some work to do if they're going to beat the top end teams on a consistent basis this season. Losing 6-2 vs. Vancouver then a 2-0 win over the Bruins followed up by a 5-1 loss to the Flyers tells me there's work to be done. The Hurricanes and most notably Cam Ward have had their struggles of late with Ward being pulled in consecutive embarrassing losses.
The Canes do have a bit of a streak (6 straight wins at home vs. Ottawa) going in Raleigh vs. the Sens which they'll hope to keep going tonight. I think the Sens need to get on Ward early and often to see if they can cash in on his recent bout of poor play. I believe the Canes will be the unfortunate victim of the Sens bounce back game if they can stick to the game plan and cut down on the terrible turnovers they had vs. the Flyers.
