They had a 5-0 lead... and lost 6-5 in OT.

Wow.

Yeah, not a great night for Lawson at all. Feel a little badly for him.

Poor guy, but a backup has gotta be able to step in. Not good for Lehner to be ejected... but still... why was Bishop not the backup tonight?

Really dunno. I assume because he's starting tomorrow.

Didn't Lawson get sent down? I thought Bishop was ready to go. 5-0 is the worst lead in AHL hockey. They should tell Lehner not to fight unless it's the third and they're up by a touchdown.

It was 5-0 when I got to the rink for my kid's game. It's my B-Day and he said (joking, of course) that if he got a goal he'd give me the puck. He ended up with 4. Then I get back in the car and find out the score, I couldn't believe it. They could have used my kid tonight Smile

The first line has to wake up offensively. Too inconsistent.

The team is just lacking that #1 C at the moment. Da Costa is the x factor, and he's not really 100%. He played low minutes tonight. Pageau didn't play tonight, but he was only ok as a first-line C in the other games.

Ziba was taking the faceoffs tonight and played with Silf, but not sure who was their other linemate for most of the night. Those two need a real solid playmaker to play with. They're still shooting a ton though, so those will go in if they keep it up (has to). I want to see Prince play with those two once he is healthy, at least to see what they can do. He could be the playmaking linemate they need if they don't want to use Da Costa there. Prince and Zib had nice chemistry with Petersson at the 2011 rookie tourney.

I still maintain that this team will be better off when the NHL gets going. As of now I think Zib and Hoffman and Stone have earned longer looks to make the NHL than Silfverberg. But politics and such will have a say in it.

Yeah, probably. 3-games in a row will do that I guess.

EDIT: Actually, it seems Richardson feels that Bishop is not in game shape yet...

I would agree from what I've seen, Hoffman looks like a contender to challenge for one of the top 6 spots in Ottawa.

Really like how Stone's played, but I hope he starts shooting more.

Just the jitters from still learning the pro game - although, I've only seen 2 of the 4 games. He looks tentative to shoot, as if he thinks he should be generous and pass. That'll pass soon I think. Also really like his aggressive forecheck on guys. Very solid looking player who could be lethal when he gains even more confidence. If he can score tonight, I think we might see him get on a roll.

Love the team in general. Last night was an odd game, over the course of the year, they'll learn to protect leads really well I think.

I wanna see him and Z notch their first soon. Must suck for a guy to have no goals on 17 shots and then see Mark Borowiecki score one on his 3rd shot of the year.
