Yeah, that would be a dream pickup for sure. It's probably all Dung so my hopes aren't getting up. I'll just get ready for a season of Fish!!!
Same approach as me; Surest way to keep from being disappointed is to lower your expectations!

and his own idiocy. It's a public forum. Kinda like how a girl complains about how guys stare at her chest when she wears low cut tops. Duh....you're asking for it!

It's actually nothing at all like that...

Let's be honest, your numbers are misplaced. The actual comparison is Travis Yost's column versus GMHockey. My guess is they are pretty equal with GMHockey being the slight winner in terms of hits and a huge win in terms of quality that read.

I doubt any of the Sens brass regularly read Yost (though he's a good blogger, despite the beating he's now taking on HF and here, it seems). But, if people affiliated with NHL teams are going to go online, they're more likely to go to an enormous site like HB (though who knows, given Ek's reputation). And if someone from the Sens sees the front page and sees a blog with the title like "Ottawa to make major trade in the coming weeks?" and they know the rumour is founded, they're probably going to read it and they'd immediately be linked to BDP.
BDP knew his source didn't read HF but he wasn't sure about whether or not he read HB. And even if that wasn't the case, the more notoriety the guy gets the more likely he's going to get referenced by other sites as well (see, um, here).
I dunno, even if I think he's a little childish (for the Spezza incident), I definitely understand why he was ticked off at the situation and why he asked to have his posts deleted.
TheAvatar wrote:ASQ : I agree with you but at the same time, I think everyone needs to be aware that whatever they write in a public board on the internet becomes "public domain" and will be linked to, cross-referenced or quoted.
It appears to me (and I think the Spezza incident points in that direction) that this person enjoys the notoriety that he/she has earned amongst Hockey (more specifically Senator's) fans.
The problem here seems to be that this notoriety has been "acquired" through the act of making public what he/she was told in confidence and got caught (or is afraid of getting caught). Never mind that this is reprehensible in the first place;

My beef is with the fact that bdp is saying that his source will find out through HB (and yost) about him and what I'm saying is that the same info gets posted here which leads another user to say pickup the info from here. again, if the real issue was about his source not leaking anymore info to him because of yost's antics, but has anything been done about the post itself? no, its more of a personal combat between the two. I don't buy the bogus about this being yost's fault, which is the argument he's making. I buy the fact that information about the internet's source shouldn't be presented on such a personal level, but he's leaving himself wide open to those antics by not setting some precedent or rule. Its a public forum!
and about the sens people scouring here, I think I heard this from prags or cap'n, so no I really have no way to prove this.
The point is, 1000s of more people will read HB than here or any other hockey rumour site. BDP's source is more likely to hear about BDP positing what he does now precisely because it's on HB.
Not all hockey forums are created equal. The more followers, the more likely it is that BDP's source will hear about this. It's pretty simple, really.
In my opinion, you are scewing the facts and numbers.
In my opinion, you're not who you say you are. And if have more substantial evidence. Glad we talked. Let's not do it again.
