It pretty much comes down to luck though. They're lucky that Parise is from Minnesota and Suter close-by, and that they wanted to sign together.

I don't think there's any way that Weber winds up in Minnesota too. They are up against the cap.

Why did they have to pay over 7.5 million on a THIRTEEN year term? When was the last time that happened? Only one player: Crosby. 13 years...deserves a tiny discount to 6.5, come on. At least under 7.

Suter got the same deal as Parise. So Minny just added $15M to their annual cap hit.

Neither guy is worth that long-term a deal, but that's what it took to land them I guess. I wouldn't want either guy on a 13 year contract. Silly.

Don't think so...his contract will run out before the Wild are truly ready to contend IMO.
