EDIT: lol if you think about it, they dumbed it down by $5

They must have refused to pay him $3M.

According to Capgeek, this puts the Flames over the cap by $2.35M with a 23-man roster.

Also, the Bruins are over by >$2.1M pending on the Wheeler signing.

I think Calgary is still counting Kotalik against the cap, so they'll be fine once he's waived

Yeah, you could ice an all RFA team and it would be pretty competitive.

Once again, waiving a guy doesn't take him off the team's cap. If he's not bought out or demoted to a minor-league affiliate, his cap hit counts. Waiving a guy means nothing if there's no subsequent action.

James Wisniewski re-signs for 3.25M on a 1 year deal.
