Once again, waiving a guy doesn't take him off the team's cap. If he's not bought out or demoted to a minor-league affiliate, his cap hit counts. Waiving a guy means nothing if there's no subsequent action.

regarding this, I doubt anyone picks up Kotalik, so I think its safe to assume if need be, he'll be playing in the 'A' next season or Europe. or the outside chance, someone takes him for half his contract. Point is his entire salary will not be there for the flames next season.
