He's had plenty of motivation ever since he got here and I never got the sense he has an ego.

It's a question of whether his time in the AHL got him his confidence and scoring touch back. At the very least his attitude on and off the ice might give the team that little extra kick.

Did anyone see/read any info on how he was in Bingo ? I wonder if he's gotten his game back on track, I don't think CC would put him in if he didn't think he was up for it.

Not saying he has an ego in an arrogant way, but when you've been in the NHL for that many years and are only 4-5 seasons removed from being the leading goal scorer, it must hurt to be sent down to the AHL. He obviously realizes why, but it still couldn't have been pleasant. I'm just hoping we see a huge performance from him.

Clouston confirmed he is playing on the 4th line in the post-practice presser.

“I just hope he can bring some energy, strong play at the net and, if need be, chip in offensively,” said Clouston. “(Cheechoo) brings a little bit more speed. Jonathan had a real good playoffs last year. He’s got a history of scoring some goals. That’s right now what we need feel more of. Right now, one shot can change a game and we feel he’s one of those types of players.”

I wonder if Alfie is done for the season. He hasn't been himself at all. Will he do something tonight or be invisible once again?

It's odd that he's played the way he has in this series, considering he's 37 and only has so many chances left. He had a pretty good season, and then since his 1,000th game celebration has not been very good. Is he getting checked that badly? I guess that's possible considering players aren't scared of anyone on our team except for him and sometimes Spezza.

Laughing3 Wow, that's awesome. It's like saying "hey, let's bring in Luke Richardson, maybe he can bring some speed to the D". Brutal.

Wow.

It was a sell out Sunday but it wasn't a capacity crowd (20,100ish was the total with a packed house being 20,500). I'm not surprised at all.

For those wanting to point to the Pens 150+ consecutive sellouts you can cram it because if Ottawa was the team that went to the finals in 2008 then again in 2009 and won the cup you would see the same thing and you'd see a waiting list for season seats for sure.

You just have to look at 2007 to see what would have happened had the Sens won the Cup the next season. 2007 cup run got the season seat base to 13,000 a cup the following year would have gotten the Sens to max season seat base with a waiting list for sure.

I wonder if he weighed Donvan's "youthful enthusiasm" versus Cheechoo's speed before making a final decision?

I wonder if the writer just screwed up and should have put Shannon in brackets? Perhaps Clouston was trying to say Shannon brings more speed but Cheechoo has shown he can score in the playoffs and that is what we need right now not a little guy who can skate fast.

The reffing has been bad all around this series. I thought it was just us, but it definitely isn't.

Interesting point from Elliotte Friedman's always excellent blog:

24. From afar, Curtis Joseph has been advising Brian Elliott since Christmas. Is he interested in being Ottawa's next goalie coach?

"Gary? Is that you? How many penalties? 16?!?! Ok, but you know I get the better beach house this year, right?"
