GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Jan. 28. 2010
@
Ottawa (29-21-4 -2nd in the North East and 5th in the Conference) visit Pittsburgh (33-20-1 - 2nd in the Atlantic and 4th in the Conference) Thursday night. Ottawa extended their winning streak in style beating the Devils at their own game and chasing Brodeur from the net in a 3-0 victory on Tuesday night.
Elliott was named NHL 3rd star of the night for his performance and 3rd star by Gord Wilson and Dave Schreiber of Team1200. That was a complete game with little given up in terms of opposition opportunities however, this was against an offensively challenged Devils team suffering through some key injuries. Here's hoping we can keep this streak alive vs. the likes of Malkin, Crosby, Gonchar and Staal. If the Sens can adhere to the system as well as they did, coupled with some of Elliott's recent magic, this one should be another W for our boys in Red, Gold and Black.
The PP did not produce last night but the Sens PK continues to be off the charts good over this current win streak which is nice because despite the fire power the Pens have they sit near the bottom in PP stats. So close in fact we can almost touch them from our comfy basement chair (Sens are 30th on PP BTW).
(7 is heaven but 8 would be great...)
