All Playoff talk all the time.

At some point GMs will learn to only award large contracts with NTCs for players based on postseason performance.

Problem with having a lot of expensive star power is it can be shut down by a good team.

It'll be interesting if anyone can shutdown Crosby and Malkin in the postseason.

It's either a case of "The Sens can't shut them down" or "no one can shut them down".

But to have a highly paid goalie (or player) with a lengthy contract that is under performing is a huge problem not only for the team but for any team because you will find it very hard to move that player.

Cheechoo would have been easier to move if he was making 1/3 what he is. And for all those hoping Spezza gets moved, that is $7M that a team has to take on for a guy we do not want because of all the reasons that have been mentioned - so why would another team want him?

I guess the only thing we have to look at with Spezza and hope for is that he can bring the same kind of two way play he was doing all year into the playoffs. I was confident he was going to be good in the playoffs after the year he had. He really changed a lot of his game and played way better defensively this year than he had in the past. IF he can do that in the playoffs we're okay with him. If he can't, I dont' know what is going to happen to our team...

If he doesn't learn to not try to do everything himself, he'll be useless. At the beginning of the year he was trying to make Team Canada and he was crap, then he didn't make it, came back from injury and he was dominant. Now, the Sens need him and he bought into it so much that he's trying to do everything himself and that's the beginning of the end. Alfie's doing the same thing.

The only thing that has Spezza's future in question was that one giveaway and him not hustling back. That was almost unforgivable. We'll see how Murray feels about it.
