none of us are, but the fact still remains that In an effort to cover for the impending loss of Volchie, plus the uselessness of BLee, gaining one of the better D-men available right now is certainly better than Sutton for said 2nd. Hennessy won;t ever crack this lineup either.

We managed to make the trades needed without giving up any assets outside of two 2nd round picks in a weak draft year.

Also, if by all accounts Seidenberg and Morris were fairly close in terms of skill, money, FA status, etc. then how could Chiarelli only recoup a 4th in 2011 for Morris.

The problem is Brian Lee and Josh Hennessy have zero market value. That deal would never have been enough.

Well, I agree and disagree. If you're Boston, what you're missing is basically Aaron Ward from last year and Seidenberg is pretty close to the same kind of player, I get that. Also, Boston might have the 1st overall pick in the next two drafts so what kind of assets are they giving up that they wont be getting back 10 fold to take a shot right now and get into the playoffs? From a Boston perspective, I get this. Boston is taking basically no risk with having 4 1st rounders in the next two years.

Now, if you're Ottawa, you be mental to make that deal and Im glad Murray ended up with Sutton for a 2nd then the same player in SEidenberg for that much.

yeah but he's got nothing to lose with this trade...Money is hardly an issue when he's gonna be a UFA at season's end. Seems like just an insurance policy in case Kipper goes down like the economy (a la Lil Wayne).
