He's also saying that Kozlov and Popovic are scratches. As far as I know those two are not injured, so smells like a trade.

Kozlov waived his NTC apparently, but he's been a scratch for a month or so now. They'll take a pick for him - a mid round pick too. He was benched for 'not working hard enough'. Not great for an old dude.

Why? Murray wants 4 X 4, Volchenkov wants 4 X 6, so they compromise in the middle and do 4 X 5.

If you're ottawa why do you want to commit to more than 4 years for a guy who likely will have his skill deplete drastically by year 4. He doesn't score, he doesn't move the puck really well, he can't lead the rush...

So you're paying a guy 4 mill for 5 years to block shots and hit? Really...With Cowen, Wiercoch coming in the next year or two and Ben Blood progressing very well I wouldn't do that..

You could pick a guy up in the offseason to replace him and only pay 3 mill at most for 3 or 4 years.

Ryan Jones is an asset to any organization. cheap, serviceable, character, hussle, the list goes on and on. This tiny move is a must imo.
