Honestly, if we lose Volchy I would love the guy. I'm not sure where seidenberg would fit right now though.

I would actually move Kuba. You're right, without moving significant salary we could only get a slight upgrade over Compoli. In order to make it worth our while it would have to be a $6M+ puck moving D. I'd be find putting Karlsson with Philips. Or Murray can't come to terms with A-Train.

No shot I would trade Elliott for Price. Elliott has shown he is a number 1 every single place he has gone and won, Price, well he hasnt shown much in The NHL if anything at all.

At this point Price is a glorified backup that lost his job to the goalie drafted just ahead of Elliott in that 9th round. Price doesnt seem to handle pressure well at all, Elliott, well he's been under it his whole career and done just fine, NCAA and The NHL.

Fine, I'll rephrase it. If Murray had the opportunity to trade Elliot for Price, HE would do it without thinking twice. Price is an elite goalie in the making, he was just rushed to the NHL. His first season was awesome, he's won World Junior gold and the Calder Cup. He's 2 years younger than Elliot and has already accomplished more than Elliot ever will. Let's face it, Elliot is an average goaltender and is not the future of the franchise. Price would instantly become our franchise goaltender, with Lehner not so far behind. That would give us 2 great young goaltenders.

I'm not simply talking for the sake of talking. Carey Price is a better goaltender than Elliot- everyone already knows that. He just needs to get out of Montreal like Roy did. He hasn't even had that bad of a year this season, his team just can't score goals in front of him.


Yes, Elliot is doing OK right now, but I believe if Murray was offered the trade, he would not think long and hard about it, he would do it right away. Price is going to be a stud. Murray would also trade Elliot for Jonathan Bernier, Michael Neuvirth, etc.

Dude, stop talking. You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

Elliott won a National Title at Wis. with the best playoff/frozen 4 The NCAA has ever seen. Elliott was also voted the started of The Canadian AHL All Star team. There is a reason Price is a backup goaltender.

As for his 1st year in The NHL he was sheltered by Huet and given a lot of games where The Habs were not going to lose, they traded Huet and not long after their season went to crap, year after that he struggled to say the least, and how he is the backup.

Everywhere Elliott has gone he's been the number 1 and earned/won the job. You have no idea about where and what Elliott has done so just shut up dude.

Im not one for comparing personal accomplishments but Elliott perhaps took the most average NCAA team to the frozen 4 and won it basically by himself. He was also a stud in The AHL after less then a year in the pro game and is now showing how mentally strong and capable he is.

Price is a friggin mental disaster right now and probably wont ever be anything more then an average starter, needs to win that job back to start.

There is a reason price was drafted early in the first round while Elliot was drafted in the 9th. Yes, Price is also a better goaltender than Halak, he just hasn't developed the right way under the craptacular organization that is the Montreal Canadiens.

WJC gold is also the biggest crock in terms of producing NHL goaltenders. Glass, Denis, Pogge, FInley, Takarski, all guys who won WJC Gold and didnt do and wont do a thing in The NHL. WJC gold is laughable when talking about goaltenders, hell, I think Price is the only one to actually win that tournament who is actually in The NHL right now.

Meh, I think it's a toss up.

Price is a VERY talented goaltender and if he gets his game back is top 5 material. I'm not sure I would take him in Ottawa because theres still alot of pressure to deal with, but if I'm Florida I'm calling everyday.

I would like to know what did Price accomplish that Elliott never will exactly.
That calder cup was not really impressive. The Bulldogs were the favourite and he just earned what Halak has accomplished during the regular season. a few years later, Halak has outplaying Price for more than a year now. The reason is simple. He has worked his way up and proved he deserved the job. It wasn't handed to him because he was a top 10 pick in the draft.
Glass won a gold medal in the WJC too, so I wouldn't consider a gold medal in the WJC an advantage for Price over Elliott.
Price was a star in the making, until he got an All Star Game. That was the day when his progression has changed directions, and a full calender year later, he is even worse.
You don't trade your actual N1 goaltender for potential.

Goalies who haven't played in the NHL yet have close to 0 values compared to NHL goaltenders. Shneider was supposed to be good, his stint in the NHL was awful. Same thing for Pogge.
You are out of your mind if you think Murray who has 30+ years in the business is gonna trade an NHL starter for AHL-ers.
