POLL: Which D-man will the Sens acquire on/by March 3rd

Hmm, I don't think I would trade one of our bright young players like Foligno or Regin for a Robidas, but if that's what it would cost to get someone a little better than Robidas then maybe....

I figure Robidas is the Stars' long term plans and he'll either be expensive to get or is 100% untradeable.

Sounds like wishful thinking to me, I know lots of 'untradeable' players have been dealt in the past, but this sounds unlikely to me right now.

As much as I love Robidas - and as much as I'd trade Foligno for him - that's a point that not enough of us can really grasp. Foligno is YOUNG and good. What a shame if we had to move him right when he was starting to excel.

He is but they have lots of other undesirable contracts they'd want to move first (Turco, Brunnstrom, etc.). I think Robidas is on Nieuwendyk's keep list and it would take a lot to change his mind.

Heck they might move Richards for a nice collection of prospects and cheaper players for a team desperate for a #1 centre (quite a few of those).

You're mentioning rentals though, good ones, but still rentals, whereas Robidas is signed. You have a point though, we'll see what shakes out.

Here's something interesting, yet sad. We could theoretically afford to trade Kuba, Kelly, Shannon and Campoli for Richards, Robidas, Grossman and Brunnstrom.

Here's a better question, how important is Robidas to the Stars ? Do they have any prospects that could fill those shoes ?

Unless Hicks has a gun to Nieuwendyk's head I can't see him accepting Lee and Foligno as a replacement, especially Lee sucks and Dallas being 1 point out of playoff position.

the stars are in financial troubles but they're not about to get suicidal... trading richards is. i'm sure they'll get a new owner soon and trading one of their star isn't agood idea, yet.
