Like 1.5, 2 mil tops. Hell, he signed as a free agent in training camp this year, he would be happy with a 2 or 3 year deal to say the least.

He's not that much below A Train's level in all honesty, but again, I dont know if he can play the right side.

If he can't then I want to see Phillips with Karlsson if Volchenkov is not here anymore.

Who knows, maybe they go out and get another RH D man like Michalek, haha. I keep saying it but I see him as the absolute best option if A Train moves on.

Huh, that's much less than I thought. I thought he'd be in the 2.75 X 3 area.

Does Seidenberg have a big shot? I thought I heard that somewhere.

Anton Volchenkov:

48 games played
3 goals - 9 assists - 12 points
124 hits, 137 blocked shots
36 giveaways, 13 takeaways
20:47 TOI/game

Dennis Seidenberg:

61 games played
2 goals, 20 assists, 22 points
133 hits, 175 blocked shots
21 giveaways, 19 takeaways
22:51 TOI/game

There is no way in heck that Seidenberg gets anything less than 3 million on the open market (although I'm thinking closer to 4 million).

2 goals this year, it doesn't look like it.

This is a guy who was signed as a UFA just before training camp, I dont see a team giving him anything more then 2 let alone 4. They can compare stats all they want but A Train has the benifit of playing in a Canadian market with a lot of exposure and in a high proflied position on The Sens non the less.

Seidenberg will be happy with a multi year deal, you can compare the stats here all you want, A Train will probably get double what Seidenberg does.

Just because A Train could get about 2 plus mil more then he is truly worth, Seidenberg on a multi year deal will probably take a bit less.

I'm pretty sure GM's don't care where the guy played POLL: Which D-man will the Sens acquire on/by March 3rd - Page 25 489887

Seidenberg did sign right before free agency, but in the time since has turned hmiself into one of the best steals in the league, and one of the best shutdown guys in the league as well.

I'm not saying he will make Volchy money (Volchy has been more consistent), but this is a still a guy that's having a heck of a season that doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Talk to Florida fans and they'll tell you that they wish the guy would re-sign with them in the off-season. They'll also tell you exactly what his worth is to the team. He has been easily their 2nd best player over the course of the season.

He will either take a few extra years on his deal, but I wouldnt be suprised to see him sign a 2 year $8 million dollar contract either. Say what you want about they guy, but he's making lots of GM's eat crow with his play and they won't make the same mistake twice.

If the difference is even $1.5 million I think I'd rather go with Seidenberg. I know he's left handed, but maybe he would be a good fit with Karlsson?

Ill take that bet.

GM's might not care where he has played but for sure the market for players are effected by it.

I like Seidenberg, Ive said as much. Ill even admit he is underpaid. Give Murray a chance to sign him to a multi year deal before he has a chance to be a UFA I bet it's for its between about 5.5-7 mil on a 3 year deal. No one is going to break the bank for a guy who has little offensive upside just like Ottawa shouldnt for A Train. Commodore got 3.75 so who friggin knows... I think his money was based on the playoffs though.

Anyways, Seidenberg wont get 4 mil a season because that is indeed A Train money, hell that's A Train being over paid.

Deeepends. If A Train gets 3.5 and Seidenberg gets 2, Ill go with A Train. Anything over that Ill take Seidenberg based on the fact it eats up a lot less of the cap for guys who are basically the same player.

4 teams in 5 years; is that a red flag?

Guest

Nah, not really. Not like he is being traded out of everywhere because they need to get rid of him. He gets dealt because teams want him and signed for the same reason.

If those are the terms I snag both, lol.

Phillips - Volchenkov
Seidenberg - Karlsson
Kuba - Carkner
Campoli

I would be thrilled with that defence next year/going into the playoffs.

I actually like that group of defense.

Anyways, I dont see Seidenberg getting more then 2.5 TOPS. Hell, Ohlund got what? 3.75 last year... Thought he would get 5 for sure.
