Elliott is one of the NHL 3 stars of the week again? GAME DAY: Montreal Canadiens @ Ottawa Senators - 2:00pm ET - Sat. Jan. 30. 2010 - Page 23 235689 GAME DAY: Montreal Canadiens @ Ottawa Senators - 2:00pm ET - Sat. Jan. 30. 2010 - Page 23 805406

We should play Elliott as long as he is hot.

This might be like Emery outplaying Gerbage way back GAME DAY: Montreal Canadiens @ Ottawa Senators - 2:00pm ET - Sat. Jan. 30. 2010 - Page 23 54934

Today's forward line combinations:
Regin-Fisher-Kovalev
Michalek-Spezza-Alfredsson
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
Shannon-Winchester-Cheechoo

A backup outplaying the #1 highly paid designated #1 goalie isn't unheard of in this league.

We'll definately see what Elliott is made of in the weeks to come ...

I don't know if this was posted yet.

Volchenkov did not practice today and Winchester is centering the 4th line while Regin is moved up to 2nd line left wing with Fish and Kovy.

I hope the A-Train will be good by Wednesday, I didn't see any further news on him, hopefully just maintenance.

Slam dunk. Man, that's exactly what I said after Foligno's injury.

It is also the story of Ottawa for the past 4 years.

Hasek replaced by Emery (due to injury).

Gerber brought in as #1. Replaced by emery.

Gerber starts again, replaced by Emery. No clear cut #1.

Emery bought-out. Gerber starts. Elliott takes over #1 role. Leclaire brought in via trade. Injured until next season.

Leclaire starts as #1. Injuries force Elliott back into #1 job. Brodeur recalled on emergency basis - plays well. Elliott returns - gets the NHL star of the week twice in a row. Leclaire's future looks in doubt.

I don't like Regin on the wing. At least they've taken him away from Cheechoo, though.

Just one year, I'd like to have some stability in nets. Just one friggin year. Is that too much to ask for as a fan?

Can anyone just step up and take control of the job permanently? Please?

Better than him on line 3 too. Regin likes playing the board game, he likes to stick his arse out and make opposing players bump off him. A lot like Foligno before he got injured, so it makes a lot of sense to me to put him where Foligno was. And if that really doesn't work, then we can always move Shannon there.

I think you'll be happy with what Regin brings to that line - and also happy that instead of Regin getting under 10 minutes, perhaps he can log more icetime now.

Brian Elliott and his first star of the week, followed by the second star of the week says hi.

It's not easy to land (and keep) a #1 goalie. Our struggles with finding one aren't really unique.

At least we have Elliott giving Leclaire a run for his money. We just have to hold on until Lehner is ready GAME DAY: Montreal Canadiens @ Ottawa Senators - 2:00pm ET - Sat. Jan. 30. 2010 - Page 23 54934

Hopefully the Sens handle this well and he doesn't go Carey Price on us.
